Applied for a job at University of Texas today (remote, not moving there). And the last box of the worst application was this. Oh, Texas. You never fail to disappoint. Even Florida isn’t doing this.

Some of you read the beginning of my next novel, The Mossad Agent's Petsitter (f/k/a The Russian Mobster's Dog Nanny), which included allusions to domestic violence, assurances that EVERYTHING IS FINE, a missing girlfriend, a missing Alfa Romeo SUV, shovels, dirt and a boatload of cash. Looks like the next chapter involves an emergency so he can
"put someone in the hospital" on the Fourth of July weekend and being met by a guy wearing a parka and shorts in Palm Beach in July to pick up Tao and still more cash. (The accent, which initially struck me as Slavic, is Israeli. We're now communicating only in Hebrew.)

Sunny crossed the 🌈 bridge last night. He was 16. We adopted him in 2018 when a single mom escaping DV couldn’t keep him. He was a good boy. He loved catnip and his plush taco toys and talked and talked. We’re so sad but hope he’s reunited with Nugget and Nedward and Taz. 💔 #CatsOfBluesky

I can’t really process the recent losses, but Facebook memories sometimes hit me the past ones. Crowned Prince Edward was such a blessing cat. They’re all special, but he was a character. And I have missed him since he crossed the rainbow 🌈 🌁 in 2020. #CatsOfBluesky

Constantine the Pope Cat, the giant long-haired tuxedo my hotel neighbors left behind, has been neutered! The vet said he’s about 2.5yo and 14.7lbs. He’s angry and groggy and needs to be cleaned up. Hopefully, it stops him spraying. That’s been no fun with no laundry here. ✂️🙀😾 #CatsOfBluesky

Discovered that a car title loan on a 2021 Nissan Armada Platinum is a max of $2800 with a payoff of $3960 in 30 days or they take the car. 😳🤬 I need to be in DC on Monday or lose the job that has not paid me much since October. The whole system is broken. It’s a death spiral once it starts..

I feel this deeply in my soul. I’ve tried not to blame Pegasus Residential or McCann Realty Partners, or even the lady property manager here. But today, as I sit here sobbing, contemplating shelters for the pets and living in my car with my teenager? I blame them all.

Need #Thanksgiving advice. Landlord refuses to repair oven. Turkey breast won’t fit in toaster oven/air fryer. We do have multifunction Ninja crock pot. Anyone tried to cook one in that? Ideas about how to do this? I am fried. Someone gave us the turkey breast. Kiddo wants Thanksgiving.
