If you are looking for an inexpensive day out, why not visit the wonderful Llanymynech Heritage area. On weekend afternoons (1.30-4pm) until the end of September there's a selection of items for sale at Llanymynech Canal Wharf including delicious local ice cream and handmade Welsh soap. #Shropshire

It's really dry on the Montgomery Canal at Llanymynech at the moment, with Powys recording just 5% of usual July rainfall. But luckily, this buddleia seems to be doing well and attracting butterflies. #UKCanals

As a charity, our volunteers at Llanymynech Canal Wharf visitor centre work hard to inform visitors about the Montgomery Canal. Due to the lack of water in the canal they can't run boat trips, so your visit would really help support them. Diolch yn fawr iawn. #UKCanals

It's that time of the week when we remind you that our volunteers at Llanymynech Canal Wharf would really appreciate your visit. The centre is a good few degrees cooler than outside, has a mini exhibition, light refreshments including ice cream. Open 1.30 - 4pm this Saturday & Sunday.

It hopefully goes without saying that cooling down in canal water is an extremely bad idea. And jumping from bridges is especially dangerous given how shallow canals are and you never know what is under the surface. Please seek shade and keep hydrated if you are enjoying #UKCanals this week.
