It was a popular theory for a time, but since then it's been pointed out that the labyrinth map shown has temples for the four ZA loa in it, so it's probably not Undercity unless it's using a bunch of ZA placeholders in the image.

Keith Riley was actually asked about that and didn't seem to be aware of the artbook lore at all beforehand. He said "if" the artbook says haranir are descended from nelves, then it must have been a mistake that was caught too late to fix.

Funnily enough, in the initial discussion Keith Riley said he didn't like using the term "unreliable narrator" for the haranir reveal. Which kind of leans into the confusion on how it was handled...

With this clarification, I think the intent of the haranir reveal is to introduce a sense of mystery back into the lore. What was previously fully explained is now meant to be uncertain with multiple contradicting explanations and no one in or out of universe knows the truth. (1)

Something I saw pointed out on the MMO-Champion's discussion forum: the new PTR build updated the Eastern Kingdoms map to restore the borders between zones, but added a new one. There's now a zone southwest of Eversong again. On live servers that area is an empty subzone called "Thalassian Range."

They had it originally in WoW's early development, interestingly enough (it wasn't an option though, they just had the hunch by default like male trolls).

The way Zul'jan is animated in the 12.0.7 cinematic looks so much better than the default troll pose. He's still hunched, but not overly so. This would make a great customization option like the straight backs for orcs.

I found a strange area on the Coiled Isle that appears to be related to prey. It's a crypt seemingly haunted by the ghosts of the season one prey targets (which is odd since they're all still hunt-able in season two).

I think the names of the cloth and mail armor in 12.1 are mixed up. The cloth armor looks way more like Jan'alai than Akil'zon and vice versa.

Talanji still references the dark trolls in relation to this, so they're still canon. Are they no longer the ancestors of night elves? Or is the idea that dark trolls aren't "true" trolls and are instead the haranir offshoot that gave rise to elves?

The Ahune fight makes me think about how tauren shaman really need updated totem models. They have the oldest ones by far. These models easily show the potential for updated ones.

They updated Aedh Firebeard's dialogue in that one spot in Elwynn where she talked about worshiping An'she to no longer mention it. Seeing as this was the only place where she would say that, and the new dialogue is what she says everywhere else, it's safe to say that was a bug.

It's a little of both. There's some both sides are bad stuff but it overall defaults on the elves definitively being worse than the Amani. Here are some excerpts from the story:

I really like the design of the central mountain on the Coiled Isle/Atal'Utek. The two peaks look like snake fangs piercing the sky.

They finally made a wild animal version of the Zandalari druid mosasaur form! It still has the holes from the druid form's piercings though. Reminds me of the wild musken with perfectly braided hair.

Interesting thing I noticed about the Vilescar snake guys. The main difference between them and the sethrak is that sethrak have a cobra hood and these guys don't. I'm not sure if that signifies anything but it's a cool design choice.

Pepe is a decor item!

Two new warband campsites have been added, "Silvermoon City" and "Silvermoon in Void." An odd time to add Silvermoon in Void since that story's fully over.

Evokers get a set themed after Deathwing (surprised it took this long) so I'll accept that not being on theme, but not the other classes.

Rogues and shaman actually get tier sets based off trolls and Ula'tek, but none of the other classes do. Weird.

Hmm, when I went to check on the PTR the entire raid tab of the adventure guide has been disabled. Maybe the SPOILER thing wasn't supposed to be available to see yet? Except the dungeon journal and still works and its lesser spoiler is still visible.

Something interesting I've noticed. The void elf demon hunter NPCs rarely have blindfolds, and none of them have horns. It's a neat way to differentiate them from fel demon hunters, though it makes their void metamorphosis still having horns a little odd.
