The Reluctant Investor
@thereluctantinv
Retired in 2020 living off #ISAs and #SIPP #pension. Reluctant investor who's picked up more about investing than he ever wanted to. I'm not Warren Buffet so please DYOR
Bit rushed on the H1 totals as mid van-trips but Q2 was + ~5.9% and YTD at ~+3.2%. Here's a bonus puffin pic from Bempton in May!
Been scratching the AI surface to expand my invstmnt candidates: 1) AI is sometimes plain wrong like presenting wrong ticker 2) Will sometimes only admit to an error when pushed I can check output but in a subject I don't know, it's potentially worse than useless until I know the prompt to use 🤔
I've rung the 24/7/365 numbers and all are closed for today. Effing scandalous
Unfortunately cannot make 18th as it's a certain person's birthday 💕 Naples was just as we expected right down to almost getting scammed by bus ticket inspectors. Amalfi coast was a welcome contrast!
Trimmed 18k off #BRWM in my SIPP to bring it back to 30k yesterday evening, Oz time! G'day 🦘🕷️
In Sydney visiting family and friends via Hong Kong. Been here barely 12 hours...
1/ Happy New Year to all. Been quite a year both personally and financially. Reduced holdings down to 46. 2nd best year ever as my stubborn adherence to the UK finally proves a broken clock etc... Overall growth across all PFs is 16.78%, as ever taking balances + cash withdrawn
3/3 Asset allocation underweight everything bar cash, and will be looking to add to some of the debt holdings but in no hurry.
Only 3 times - and the Sava, and every other waterway deep enough!
For reasons outside our control we are on a month-long van trip round bits of Europe, currently roasting in Bled. There are lots of pics I could post to represent the holiday so far but this one from Kitzbuhel seems to neatly cover everything
Out of curiosity I thought I'd ask Gemini what it thought of the #BBGI situation and was pleasantly surprised. I must devote more time this winter to exploring how best to prompt and sanity-check the output...
Really feel for #AGFX holders. I fell for some of the pump a while back but didn't like the vibe and decided to exit after a year and luckily actually made a profit, something I don't usually achieve on AIM. The recent new skin in the game showed how it's only 1 measure to consider.
Tried Meta, just to remove the nagging "notification" - seems about right. Lonely ivory tower...
Had a lovely bit of winter warmth in Copenhagen with the famalam. 4 days not nearly enough to take everything in. Now to work off the Danish breakfasts...
Battersea power station. Could have spent a whole day there!
post a picture you took (no description - except in alt text!!) to bring some zen to the timeline:
Exited #KR1 yesterday (for now) and happy to have improved on my last dabble. Any recent followers should be aware I am terrible at stock-picking so please DYOR etc... before taking any kind of inspo from my endeavours. Sure, it might 🚀to the 🌔from here...
I firmly believe in #KR1 value. And also that it'll drop with btc as it has previously. So took some profit (for once). Shame I wasn't brave/daft enough to allocate usual 5k position size 🤔
Been mulling IHT over during Shropshire break. Any experts out there know how "gifts out of regular income" is applied to taking 50k a year out of a SIPP (down to zero) for next decade and giving it to ones heirs? #askingForAFriend
