Packed and ready for Book Bash tomorrow (8/16) at Basecamp Books and Adventure in Colorado Springs. 28 local authors will be attending from noon to 6:00. Join the fun if you’re in the area.
How Amazon KDP packed the books I’ll need for Sunday’s Book Bash at Basecamp Books in Colorado Springs (stop by Sunday from 12-6 if you're in the neighborhood). I have a few in stock so *should* be OK. Just toss the books in a box. They'll be fine. 10 out of 35 damaged. Any PoD recommendations?
There’s nothing special in this photo. I’ve almost deleted it more than once but it remains in my camera roll because it captures an ephemeral moment, a common place and scene that most people ignore. Still, it will never come again so I’ll keep it for now.
Costume seems to match what he wore for the Twilight Zone episode "Once Upon a Time."
Same story here in Colorado Springs. I can’t remember the last time we had measurable precipitation.
Summer flowers in my garden. These volunteered a few years ago and who am I to argue?
A scrap of cloud provide a splash of sunset color above Mt. Herman. It’s dry in Colorado; so dry I count each plink of the raindrops that reach my roof. The Aspen Acres fire south of Colorado Springs has burned 100,000 acres with no relief for the evacuated or the exhausted crews in the forecast.

I drove up Mount Herman Road this morning to watch the sun burn off the morning fog.
It's car show season, where old men gather and tell lies to each other about youthful automotive adventures because truth is boring.

The obsessive intensity of the John Astin version of Gomez was my role model through 43 years of a perfect marriage.
My mom (and dad) on a hot summer day in 1976 at Agate Fossil Beds National Monument, Nebraska. Happy Mother's Day, Mom.
A version of the quote is inscribed above the west entrance of Norlin Library at The University of Colorado in Boulder.
Starting a clinical trial of CUSP06 on a gray, misty Denver morning. Prayers, please, that it lives up to its promises. I have my laptop to get some writing done, Diet Dew to keep me awake, and a couple of sandwiches for when I get hungry. Gonna be a long day.
Springtime in the Rockies. Mid-70s today, more snow on Pikes Peak AND in town Tuesday and Wednesday, then back to the 70s. It’s a battle, getting summer to arrive.
The sun came up again, a dusting of fresh snow on Pikes Peak. It’s going to be another beautiful day.
I first visited the summer of 1976. If I remember correctly, there was a single ranger in a trailer and basic signs on the Fossil Hills Trail. We were told not collect any fossils, and we didn't. The trail near the bluffs was covered in bone fragments weathering out of the silt and volcanic ash.
