The compartment is … cosy, but as I am travelling with a family member, it works. Temperature might be a problem when we are going to stand still for a couple of hours somewhere in the Czech Republic. It is quite warm unless the open window allows a breeze. #traivelling /2

This day in 1945 - #May8 - was also possible because of thousands of allied #nurses and combat medics. Many - like Feodora Puschina (1922-1943) - died. These true #histnursing heroines have been ignored by German nurses association (and more or less by ICN). From the bottom of my heart: Thank you. 💙

Heute ist #Bikergottesdienst in #Neubrandenburg. Die Spende der Teilnehmenden geht an die #Lebenshilfe NB. Geschäftsführer @andrhepeters.bsky.social bedankt sich bei den Biker:innen und wünscht eine gute Ausfahrt. Bewohner:innen & Klient:innen sind da. Wir hören hinten zwar nix, aber gute Stimmung.

Sabbatical logbook: I told you that I would go where no other #nurse has been before. This is the only copy in a German library (Thank you, @corinnaehlers.bsky.social, for the hint.). Pretty sure that I'm the 1st nursing scientist to read it and darn sure that most quoting scientists can't read it.

I baked coconut macaroons and mixed & bottled egg liqueur* (because of the yolks after doing macaroons). Light colours on the fourth Sunday of Advent and Winter Solstice. *The Eastern German recipe** with grain schnapps. No surviving salmonella. **I don't drink alcohol, but I like the procedure.

One of my kids went to Rome and gave me a pair of sock - by #Gammarelli, the pope's official clothier. Not only are they very comfortable (The kid estimated my size perfectly.) - as a Roman-Catholic woman this is probably the closest I will get to major orders. Or kicking them. Great kid.

Being on my own in my commuter's apartment doesn't mean that I can't enjoy a fancy #teatime. Quite the opposite. It helps that my family knows how much I have a penchant for antiq china and is happy about this never-ending source for gift ideas.
