Hello,

I was told to reach out to GDQ management to express my deep displeasure and disappointment in seeing GDQ partner with SNK for a Metal Slug collaboration, so I am doing so.

It is nearly impossible for me to believe that Games Done Quick is not aware of SNK's majority ownership by the Misk Foundation, which is run by Mohammed bin Salman of the Saudi Royal Family. It defies credulity that GDQ would not do their due diligence and come to a full understanding of which companies they are partnering with. The only explanation that I can think of is that GDQ was well aware that they would be complicit in reputation laundering for the Saudi regime, and chose to participate anyway.

This is a stunning betrayal of the values that GDQ claims to uphold. The Saudi regime is responsible not only for horrific human rights abuses, but for anti-LGBTQ oppression throughout their nation and controlled territories. I have seen GDQ put their money where their mouth was before, when they made the difficult decision to pull out of Florida. I would never have expected a decision like this.

I have long been a supporter of Games Done Quick - not just financially, but through direct volunteering and speedrunning of my own. GDQ is a big and meaningful part of my life, and I would like for it to stay that way. That said, based on how GDQ plans to respond to this lapse in judgment, I may have to rethink my continued involvement with the organization.

I am pleading with GDQ to do the right thing. Apologize publicly for the event, return all money received for the event, and maybe organize a competing event to support those who have suffered due to the Saudi regime. These would all be important and helpful steps in restoring GDQ's reputation, which has meaningfully suffered from this terrible decision. My deepest fear is that MSF will publicly sever its affiliation with GDQ due to this SNK collaboration, which I believe would be the death knell for the GDQ organization.

Please, do the right thing.

All of these locations are within walking distance of each other! Fontainebleau is literally across the fucking street from the Convention Center! I hate Elon Musk even more now that I've learned more about the Loop.

So far, the Vegas Loop has opened just nine stations, five of which connect the Las Vegas Convention Center. From a sixth station, Encore, travelers can go only to the convention center. Three more stations serve Westgate, Resorts World, and Fontainebleau.
