I've been hearing that it is way too loud. Disappointing, since I'm taking the time to actually read the book before seeing the movie. I may just wait until I can stream it at home.
I'm not feeling very UU today. Is it appropriate to want to tattoo "MAGA" on every Trump voter's forehead so that, years from now, they won't be able to deny the hell they wrought on our country by electing DGT twice? You know, like Lt. Aldo Raine and Sgt. Donny Donowitz in _Inglourious Basterds_?
"Stingo, you look... you look very nice, you're wearing your cocksucker." "That's my "seersucker."
Here in East Jesus, VA, the city filled their pools with dirt.
I work at a very small college where I am one underpaid person staffing an important office typically staffed by five. I also have a side gig as an adjunct faculty in doctoral research. I have no spare time. How does a CEO of 11 companies have time to take over a once great democracy?
I'm reminded of this dialog in the film Mississippi Burning. The lead investigator insists on doing things cleanly by the book, when the situation necessitates getting dirty. Democrats still operate like it's the decorous days before Gingrich introduced scorched-Earth governing.
I just watched _American History X_. The lead, played by Ed Norton, is sent to jail and aligns with prisoners covered in tattoos of swastikas and White supremacist symbols. One of the prisoners, shown here, does the exact same salute Musk did: he pounds his chest and then extends his arm. >shiver<
A local college transgender student took her own life Friday. This has to be a terrible time for transgender people nationwide, having been made the focus of the Right's culture wars. Check in with your transgender family members, friends and co-workers. Love them.
