If you take 20ug of lysate with SDS and detergents in them and do S-Trap vs in-gel like my pic shown and get better data using S-trap I would love to see it. Our recoveries and reproducibility are much higher InGel.
Other great cheap alternatives for emitters can be found at CoAnn and MicrOmics.
I am not sure how you inject samples...but I always dry down my peptides in the actual autosampler tube to minimize losses. Might want to try that out but you would need a different rotor.
These work well with the vanquish neo as well...although you will have to alter your gradient to account for the extra column volume

Yep they are still sitting here on our shelves collecting dust...maybe we just got bad batches but have been running in-Gel ever since.
We are finally up and running. Thermo has to do a better job in having boards and parts for their instruments. Being down for a month while paying a huge amount of $$ for a service contract is unacceptable. Shipping engineers multiple broken boards is a disgrace. Do better. #Thermo #orbitrapASTRAL
In my honest opinion, companies(thermo, ionoptiks, etc) are overthinking the source. It's a big money grab...all you need is voltage and steady spray which can easily be done like this with a little polishing.
Penn campus is so much prettier after a birds superbowl pummeling of the Chiefs...just saying
