So here’s the thing … Plane trees are a hybrid, only discovered in the 1600’s They’ve been planted extensively throughout the UK since the 1700’s They’re huge already 🤩 … and this, the first here, is still thriving #GTOB 🏆🌴🇬🇧 … so NOBODY knows how tall, fat and old they can get here 😳
At 400 years old now, the black mulberry tree 🌳 🍇 at Kelmscott Manor was ancient when William Morris lived there in the late 1800’s You can see how it may have inspired 1891 bed hangings there, and the classic Morris & Co fabric -The “Kelmscott Tree” in Mulberry/Russet bsky.app/profile/ticl...
