As you can see in this picture, #GuineaPigs are highly social creatures who enjoy the company of their kind.
Protecting the piggies from airborne and feline predators while they enjoy their lunch on the lawn. I should be at my desk, revising an article after peer-review, but this is much more satisfying. Short #AcademicBreak with #GuineaPig support.
The #GuineaPigs had a lunch of freshly cut grass. Artemis ("Temmi") sat on the food so nobody could steal from her. Cassiopeia ("Kessi"), seen only by her butt in the top right corner of the image, had to periodically check something in the cardboard box. Then they all took a nap in the shade.
Early lunch with backyard #GuineaPigs Snofru, Artemis (not visible because inside the box on the left), Persephone, Penelope, Juno and Cassiopeia (clockwise from left to right).
Cassiopeia (foreground) and Persephone (background) enjoying an early dinner on the lawn. Juno did not want to be in the picture. #GuineaPigs
One pig, two pics. Persephone (“Percy”) squatting and hopping. #GuineaPig
Young Persephone (“Percy”) next to Snofru, the sole (neutered) male of the herd—and its, somewhat reluctant, leader since the death of undisputed senior lady Minerva (“Mimi”) in February. #GuineaPig
Returning home from a fantastic conference on #Technostalgia in Luxembourg 🇱🇺 hosted by Valérie Schafer and her colleagues. Great talks, great discussions! Met old friends and made new ones. Stayed at a hotel befitting #media #archaeology and #nostalgia.
The herd, from left to right: Artemis (“Temmi”), Snofru, Persephone (“Percy”), Juno, Penelope (“Penny”), and Cassiopeia (“Kessi”).
Newcomer #GuineaPig girl Penelope (“Penny”) still very camera-shy and not quite ready to join the herd outside.
#GuineaPig dame Artemis (“Temmi”) enjoying a beautiful afternoon on her backyard lawn.
Dress rehearsal tonight. Actual #WarOfTheRing to follow later this week. (Deep dive into the manual required.)
Meet Persephone ("Persi"), the littlest of little #GuineaPigs in her small herd.
Here is a cute pic of a cute pig: Cassiopeia (“Kessi”), the youngest in our little herd of #GuineaPigs. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Please enjoy these photos of cute #GuineaPig dames having an early dinner today.
Die Stadtwerke Bochum pflegen ein sonderbares Verhältnis zu #Grammatik und #Orthografie: "Wärmepumpem entdecken", "Wärme Pakete". Bin ich zu kleinlich?
Coming soon: "Remains of the Disc", my short #media #history of the #CD-ROM, #OpenAccess with @transcript-verlag.bsky.social in Infrastructures of (Non-)Knowledge, ed. by Kristin Flugel et al. as part of the CRC #Virtual Lifeworlds @sfb1567.bsky.social.
#GuineaPig Minerva ("Mimi") 🖤 2020–2026. May her meadows be ever green and no shadow cross her sky.
This is Minerva ("Mimi"), one week ago, out on the lawn in our backyard. She will probably not make it through the night. Her health has deteriorated lately. But she is comfortable now and surrounded by the little herd of #GuineaPigs she has led for the last five years. Godspeed, Mimi.
