I haven't worn pierced earings for 20 years or longer. So this week, I scooped up a matching necklace and earings set online and guess what? My pierced ears are still pierced. No new "piercing" necessary.
Anyone else having issues with age verification on Blue Sky (BS)? I was able to verify this account with ease, but now when trying to verify my business account the face recognition tech errors. BS tells me to contact Kids Web Services and vice versa. #auspol @support.bsky.team @albomp.bsky.social
This is a photo my son took on my iPhone when walking home from primary school around the age of 10 (he's now 18). He has such a keen eye for imagery. I love how he found this poor chopped down tree where nature was determined to continue. (I hope things all work out for your cat and vet bill.)
Here was my long hair in progress. An old-style PC in the background and a rare view of the Brisbane River from my desk. Now skewered by a skyscraper.
Two days ago, I removed the broken power supply from my computer and replaced it with a new one purchased on eBay. I did this all by myself in a heat wave and without aircon. Watcing a couple of YouTube vides helped. No more borrowing the husband's computer. #olddognewtrick
My grandson (kid's cat) is using my keyboard for his pillow. I have to carefully type around his whiskers. My latest Wordle results: Wordle 1,543 5/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟨⬜⬜🟨🟨 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
My old cat is dying. Tabitha Joy Dubinsky is 20 and my firstborn child. I helped her mum (who was visiting) give birth to her in our walk-through closet. The name Tabitha derives from a character of mine, and her middle name, Joy, was my mum's. And joy, she has brought us. #catsofbluesky #cat
Part one of a short creative non-fiction story coming soon to my Substack newsletter. I know, The Day the Desktop Died sounds illuminating. It will be free to read and comment. No subscription necessary.
"Who has the controller?" Anubis, 2-year-old, flame ragdoll waiting on the family to settle in for TV night. #caturday #catsofbluesky @catsofbluesky.bsky.social
You know it's going to rain when your moonlight cactus has 28 flowers (first one blooming tonight) and there's a low sitting along the coast. #queensland #brisbane #weather #bom
It is Trans Awareness Week (13 to 19 November). My son received a new birth certificate yesterday with his name and gender changed. Thank you, Queemsland, for making my teen's gender affirming journey a positive one. #transawarenessweek2024
I went to see Deadpool and Wolverine this afternoon with the family. Mr. D had taken our son to see it a couple of weeks ago. Since then, we have binged all the Deadpool, Wolverine and X-Men movies and as they wanted to watch it again at the cinema, I decided to go with them this time. (c)
So glad to be part of Bluesky! Now with over 10 million users, and I was #4,159,488! For a while there, I was a little lost. 😌

I have this cat. I love her. She's our first child, the "test" baby. Tabitha Joy is 19. But I'm slowly going mad as whenever I try sleeping, she gets up and starts caterwauling. She wants to ||: drink water, eat, go out, go in, eat, drink water, go out :|| and must have an audience.🥱
He was also the stage manager for Queensland Young Dancers and President of The Mackay Eisteddfod Committee for one year. The Eisteddfod ran for three weeks every year during which time he was also a volunteer stage manager.
My almost 94-year-old father died Sunday evening at 11:15 pm. He was in a great deal of pain, physically and mentally. The world is quieter and duller without him. You can rest now, Dad. Thomas Andrew Wells 22 June 1930 - 14 April 2024
If only my dad could pause dying until May. March and April are rather inconvenient (says no one ever). Love you, Daddy.
Before writing, my interests leaned toward music and drama. In year 12, our drama class stirred an interest in playwriting and poetry. I started writing my first children's novel when I was 20. Now, my main WIP is a dark fantasy novel.
First, I'm completing a commercial client's LinkedIn posts for next week. Then, planning a customer-focused monthly newsletter for another client. Finally, if I have some time left between homeschooling my 16-year-old son, I might revise two fictional short stories focusing on women in history.
I love writing about my childhood home. It's the setting for a children's story I wrote decades ago and then filed away. I visited it once. There was no answer when I knocked. So, I took a photo with my favourite tree and left. I love the extract from the story; it has a lovely country feel.
Meet my grandson, Anubis. I hope all my grandchildren look like him!
From one duck to another, "Hello!" Sending out positive vibes and greetings to all of you amazing people. May your day be as bright and beautiful as your smile! 💫✨ #hello #greetings #positivevibes
