I'm just having a really hard time reading tonight. Not sure what the problem is.
Dinner tonight: cream cheese & lox Dutch Baby. I figured with all the billionaires and politicians eating babies I should give it a try. (Full disclosure: no babies were harmed in the making of this meal)
Garlic-cheddar, aged 3-1/2 months. This is my first cheese that isn't crumbly somewhere!
I'm a bit late deciding to photograph it, but tonight's dinner is super tasty! Oven roasted butternut squash, seasoned with thyme, rosemary, garlic powder, and habanero/honey seasoning; caraway cabbage with butter, onion, and a splash of vinegar, a recipe from 1922 I found.
Also of note: i got the anarchy tat before finding out certain groups use it for white supremacy. I'm not like that. I'm probably going to get the bottom arc lasered out and turn it into an OPA tat.
My cat chose me! She was a feral cat from the local cat colony. She got trapped and fixed/released and her ear notched. Then one day she was at the corner of my building meowing, so i sat down and meowed back at her. That was 3 years ago. Midnight at the Oasis ladies and gents:

Off to a better start for game 2! Back to back homers in the bottom of the 1st have the Clingstones up 2-0!
Welp, game 1 of the double header is a loss for the Stones, 1-0 in extra innings.
Well Bluesky the seasons have changed (my River Dragons lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs) so now it's baseball time with the Columbus, Georgia Clingstones (Atl Braves AA affiliate).
The crest of the Island's seaward side was slippery, and i did bust my ass once navigating it, but i also did make it to Driftwood Beach walking up the Island from The Villas!
So i basically killed time standing in the middle of the ocean like an idiot as the tide slowly receded. But...
There were a few beers involved, and some of the best 💯 legal weed on the planet...but really, I'm just gonna walk up the beach, right?
So there I was, waiting for the tide to go out. "This will be fun!" I said! Oh btw I'm 63, smoked from age 10 to age 48, am chronic a-fib, etc. But also, I'm an idiot, so....
So my plan was.... I'll walk from Villas stair down to the strip beach up to Driftwood Beach when the tide goes out (Jekyll Island is a low-tide beach and has extreme tides, typically 6 to 9 feet).
But Driftwood Beach is awesome, when there are no walkers 😉, and only....what? A mile? From the south end of Villas By The Sea?
Except at high tide when it's stairs to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
So since last fall when i was here they have rebuilt the stairs down to the strip beach below the rock wall.
After a week in boarding, Midnight at the Oasis is stuck to me like glue. (I'll post vacay pics in a bit)
