Mine did that a few years ago. Well, it was more like he was startled, then he slipped off the headboard and my face became his next launchpad. He barely missed my eye. Thankfully it healed up nicely and there's no real sign of it anymore.

I'm two days behind on sharing this, but here's a bright spot amongst the doomscrolling: new tree! The tree in front of our house had to be removed a few years ago lest it die and fall over. A new one was finally planted on the 11th. I'm really looking forward to watching this grow over the years.
