An Evacuation Alert was issued July 8th due to the Ainslie Creek wildfire. While the Ainslie Creek fire has not grown closer to these areas since July 8th, this Evacuation Alert will remain in place as BC Wildfire continues their work to secure the eastern edge of the fire.

Effective Friday, July 10 at 12:00 pm. the BC Wildfire Service will be issuing a full campfire ban for the Kamloops Fire Centre, which includes many rural areas of the TNRD. If you are in a municipality, be sure to check if local prohibitions are in place. More info: www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/...
Please be advised the Lower Nicola Eco-Depot is closed due a grassfire adjacent to Woodward Road. Fire crews are on scene, and at this time the Eco-Depot has not been impacted. The Eco-Depot has been evacuated as a precaution. The TNRD will provide an update when more information is available.

With the Saw Creek wildfire near Lytton now under control, teams of firefighters from two TNRD Fire Departments have now returned home. Three members from each of the Loon Lake Fire Department and the Vavenby Fire Department were deployed on June 19 and returned home on June 23. (1/2)

The Saw Creek wildfire situation has rapidly escalated this evening in the Highway 1 corridor in areas north and south of Lytton. A formal Evacuation Order will be released shortly by the TNRD for Electoral Area "I," for an area east of Highway 1 from Florence Road north to near Skihist Park.
