It's been too long, the heatwave threw me off my groove... so here's A DOUBLE-SIZED update for "wizard car"!! (35/?)

The page is divided into four segments, each taking a variably sized horizontal strip.
In front of the top three strips is a full shot of the trucker walking in. They look feminine but butch, with noticable meat on their bones, freckles on their legs, and laced shoes suitable for the long drive.
The first strip is dedicated to the mechanitch. She looks just as low-detail as her background appearance on the previous page, but this time she's the focus of the panel! She's just noticed the trucker's appearance and has a goofy little blush to go with the lo-fi rendering. Behind her, the giant bong looms tall.
The next strip is the wizard, leaning forward and sweeping her arm back towards the car in a point. This long distance shot is doing a little more scenesetting - the 3d printing staff continues its job, with a spotty "R R R R R R" sound effect.
The third strip is a close-up shot of the car. The sun has started its travel down the sky, and is silhouetting the crow hood ornament. Once again, we can see the car's license plate is XH26 ZB5.
The final strip dominates the rest of the page. It is itself a two-moment sequence depicting the 3d print job, which is *almost* done as the staff sputters out a few last, sporadic "R"'s. It finishes the job with a loud "ping!", and swooshes around in a curve towards the observer with a "fwwWWUUUSSHH".

The page is dominated by a large shot of two characters' hands. The one on the left flinches, while the one on the right rapidly stretches forward into frame to catch the gunstaff's stock with a loud "wWHUUPPP", sort of like a baseball. In the background, the second person's teeth are gritted.
An inset panel depicts the aftershock. The wizard was summoning her staff to arrive directly in her hand, and she looks up in an unknowable expression. It was caught by the mechanitch, who has her eyes obscured but is "hff pff"ing and clearly the most outwardly uncomfortable she has been on panel (which is saying something). It is clear that the gritted teeth in the previous panel belonged to her, because they're still tight and tense and a little wavy. Her free hand twitches its fingers. In her thought bubble, the vertically-striped-circle personality as introduced on page 16 throws a 6-sided die.
At the bottom of the page, the die bounces a few times and lands on a "NAT 1!" The mechanitch's rictus turns into a wobbly grin and she lifts a weak thumbs up while squeaking out "Please donnn't shoot them?", with the vertical circle personality hiding behind the bubble. The visual metaphor of the seven-pointed, horizontally-lined star personality floats to the side, and in the variation of the speech bubble used primarily for internal conversation, says "oh, COME ON", with the "ON" significantly larger and partially off the side of the page.

Why do I have nostalgia for that B.O.T. VHS

Transformers Age of the Primes Bruticus (with some custom paint on the Blast Off arm cladding, and Power Core Combiners Huffer as a substitute for Swindle), wielding the giant turret from Legacy Menasor in reference to the Gravitational Disruptor Ray from the final episode of the original Transformers cartoon's second season, "BOT". A 3d print of the titular protagonist, from Funbee Studios, stands next to the Super Robot and his weapon.

In the background, Combiner Wars and Power Of The Primes Blast Off can be seen, along with Knock-off Kasane Teto Plush that's been a fixture of most of my tuoyposting on this website

Setting the stage in "wizard car"... (33/?)

The top of the page consists of three sections.
The first section is four panels of the wizard from directly above where she laid down after the previous page, in a loose parallel to the mechanitch from page 15-17. In panel 1, she has a frustrated, squinting, somewhat unpleasant-to-look-at expression on her face, one hand reaching out of the panel to try get her sunglasses. Panel 2 has her "put."ing the glasses on her face, immediately losing a lot of visual detail and depth and becoming more representational - a visual metaphor for becoming more put together after her embarassing tumble. Panel 3 has her getting up, with hands reaching out of the panel to pull herself up. Panel 4 has just a shadow in the corner, with an "up!" to indicate successful righting.
The second section of the page briefly sets the scene with another overhead view alongside the road. The truck puts a bit of work into moving with a "...vvvvVVVVVVVVVSSSSSSSHHHH..." as it gets out of the road with a brief, professional turn. An arrow points at where the portal is, leading to section three - a wide panel of the wizard "un-zorch!"ing her portal into a sparkle in her hand, fixing her facial hair with a "beard brusch." as the mechanitch walks over, nonplussed.
The bottom half of the page has one scene-setting insert of the trucker opening the driver's side door to their vehicle with a "clik.", cast in shadow... and then a big establishing shot of their design. The only new details are freckles on the arms and cheeks, the flannel shirt partly poking out over a round belt buckle, and dark nail polish. In addition, the driver side door has a opened ring-pull can of something that reads "ROAD -OUP" (partially obscured) in their door's bottom compartment. They say "All rite.", ready to move on from the establishing scenesetting almost as much as I am!

Panels 7, 8, 9: the woman from panel 1 wakes up, face gurning. She reaches over, off-panel. She blows her nose with a "HO -- NK".

Busy tomorrow, so "wizard car" arrives a day early - but moving with haste isn't good for everyone! (32/?)

The top half of the page is a dedicated sequence of the wizard. She is stepping out of the portal, her slightly-heeled open-top shoe putting pressure on the edge of the hole in space with a "fwzzzzZzzZZZ" that ominously rises in intensity. There is a look of determination on her face as she says "ok, no, not letting that happen to my car. how long can you stay fffFFFFFF--" as the portal, with her hands as a fixed point and her foot applying torque, tips over to dump the wizard harshly on the dusty plain near the road with a ZWAMP. Her sunglasses go flying.
Panel 2 is a look at the observers - the trucker, whose cap has lifted slightly in concern to reveal beady mole-like eyes, squawks "Maam! Are U OK??". To the right of the panel, the mechanitch looks down through the now-angled portal, bringing a fist to her mouth, trying not to laugh and being low-key disrespectful with a *snrrkt*. In the foreground, a mostly-darkened silhouette of the wizard raises herself a little.
Panel 3 is two back-to-back moments. The wizard is initially silent, on her hands and knees and facing away, limbs wobbling in struggle to support her own weight after having just phenomenally eaten shit. After a moment's thought, she flips with a "roll!", and seethes out a "SOME day." Further pause to collect herself. "i will remember to use „rotation lock". "

"wizard car" returns (again!) - a conversation without even getting up, and horrifying hypotheticals... (31/?, also reposting p30 to clarify character design)

The page is divided into 6 panels.
Panel 1 is of the trucker leaning out of their rolled-down window. We can see they have a cross-hatched flannel shirt, a big round nose and buck teeth, a baseball cap obscuring their eyes, strangely lobed butterfly-wing-esque ears, and a big bushy ponytail. They yell "Hey!!! Can you 2 hear Me???". A little spark "fzzz"es in the air before them.
Panel 2 has the mechanitch and wizard sitting next to each other on the other side of the massive bong as per before. The mechanitch glances over her shoulder and says, in a wavering voice, "(I just sat down...)". The wizard says "don't worry, i got this.", bringing the tips of her pointer fingers together over her head and manifesting a circular spark.
Panels 3 and 4 are the same viewpoint as panel 1, with the fzzzling spark opening up into a circular portal out through which the wizard pops with a "ZORCH!", her pointer fingers aimed down at the brim of the hole in space. The trucker is nonplussed; the mechanitch, however, is surprised to the point of cartoonishly bulging eyes. The wizard says "alright, hold yer dorsals. got a good lass on the case. knowledgable. what can you offer?"
Panels 5 and 6 are close-ups of the trucker and wizard respectively, the former acting casual with a slight head tilt and smile but coming across awkward, and the latter acting casual resting her head in one hand and the elbow on the brim of the fzzzling portal, but coming across opaque and low-key threatening. The trucker says "Hi Sir-" and is very quickly and forcefully interrupted with an underlined, bold-bordered "ma'am." To their credit, the trucker corrects quickly if clumsily - in a cascading series of stop-start speech bubbles, "Maam!" "Maam. Um." "Um." "I can. Lift? & follow Instructions good..."
In the background of panel 6, the mechanitch leans around the giant bong, in chibi proportions, eyes still bulging and surrounded with question marks.

At the top of the page, a detail shot of the wizard lifting up her circular portal like a child might poke their head out from under a cardboard box. Her elbow continues to rest on one edge of the portal, keeping it roughly in place as it "fzzzz"es. She says, to the mechanitch - who has been disrupted from her comfortable rest, shocked by the display of teleportation used so casually - "would muscle make the next steps easier?" Meanwhile, the other end of the portal is shown in a dotted-border inset. It has also tipped up in front of the trucker, clearly not over having made themselves the fool, thinking "O God Im gonna be kickin my Self 4 that.", with "kickin" underlined for emphasis.
Another square panel, with hard borders, has the mechanitch taking a moment to pucker her lips and collect herself - no more freakout reaction, but it does take a bit of effort.
The rest of the page has her standing up, casually thumbing over her shoulder at a hypothetical thought bubble - two internal panels, a side view of the mechanich in extremely simplified style kind of like a board game piece, using the wand to write on a scroll in front of the car. With a "creeeaKRASH", the car's clotheshorse-like supports give way and it slams to the ground, shocking the pawn-like mechanitch with a look of abject terror and sending everything flying. The real-world mechanitch, who is used to thoughts like these and knows how to handle them when not subsumed by anxiety, says "Well. Maybe in the worst case scenario??" - but the wizard is *not* prepared to consider the possibility of her car getting totalled, and her eyes BULGE out of her head, popping up the sunglasses. (The portal is double-sided, so the wizard is partly obscured by a tilted circular view of the parked motorbroom.)

Is it called a rolling stop if the vehicle doesn't have wheels? And other existential questions in this week's "wizard car" (29/?)

A large, borderless region depicts the truck without wheels from the previous page drifting to a stop with a "VVVVVVVSSSSHHHHHHH". It does so near the motorbroom (which is drawfed in size) and the writing desk being 3d-printed by the gunstaff. The truck has the make "AHYB", and as previously stated instead of wheels it has a robust, coiled pipe on each side with cables hanging underneath it, implied to be the source of levitation.
Five panels are centered in the bottom half of the page. There are three in front and two behind - the first two in front depict the truck's door window being lowered with a "whrrr", while the ones behind depict a hand spinning a window-opening lever with a "squeak!". The fifth panel, also in front, shows the same vantagepoint with the window fully open - and a person is trying to catch our main characters' attention, resting their doorside arm and waving their other one. Their details aren't super clear, but they have a baseball cap, noticable nostrils (implying a flat nose), and rodent-like front teeth. They say out the window "Heya! Yall need any Help?" in speech bubbles that have rounded sides and aren't quite closed all the way.

Distracted by passing freight in "wizard car"..? (28/?)

This page has a rather avant-garde composition. The throughline (literally) on the right side of the page is an overhead view of the slightly wibbly road in the middle of the desert that our epynomous car broke down next to. There are several fixtures we've seen previously; the sign in the distance from page 1, the car with door open and giant bong from page 2, the motorbroom (parked there by page 5), the summoning circle from page 14 (with staff still going RRRR per page 20), and our main characters sitting next to the bong per page 24. All this information is resurfaced to provide context for the new developments on this page, with a boxy vehicle speeding past the sign...
Top panel: A view of the other side of the sign from page 1. The sign is managed by "KCBolgouix"; its dedicated poster area declares 'HOIL IS REAL! "House Of Infinite Lament"', clearly channelling American evangelical ideas. Passing it with a "VVVVVVVVV" is a boxy, blurry vehicle, with the letters "STO- -RT" visible around the previously mentioned road cutting through the panel.
Middle-left panel is a closer look at the vehicle. It is some sort of long-nose truck. Given that vehicles in this world are 3 for 3 on not having wheels, it instead has some fairly heavy duty coils wrapped around a metal pipe affixed to the full length of the cab.
Middle-right "panel" is the mechanitch, clearly distracted and not all there. She's looking over her shoulder with a "turn.", around the giant bong (and the road border).
Bottom-right "panel" is the rear of the truck's trailer zooming along the road, with a low-detail version of the breakdown site for extra visual context.
Bottom-left features a close zoom into the wizard's face. She hasn't had her concentration broken, staring into the distance with her smoking lead visible in front of the horizon reflected in her sunglasses. With determination, she says "you've got a lot ahead of you, lass. you'll figure it out."

Befores and afters in "wizard car"... (27/?)

The top half of the page is split again. On the left is the wizard at 189yo. Her hat, ears, and nose are the same, but a lot of other details have changed. Her curly hair hasn't receded underneath the hat. Her beard's predecessor is some light facial hair on a somewhat saggy and tired face. Her robe & shorts were a shirt & jeans Her sleeves are rolled up, showing her self-harm scars, her nails are short, and her sunglasses were once shuttershades. She is holding the hand of her 6yo son - a small lad, awkward-adorable afro with a hairclip up to the top of her belly, furrowed eyebrows up to her waist. He's wearing a little sports shirt with a #1 on it, and his most unique trait is his facial mole. He's not a happy camper. On the right is the wizard as her present day 302yo self, smiling as her shoulder is held by the now 118yo, larger than life, VERY attractive son. His long ears flop a little, he's got a tightly curled, rectangular shoulder-length mullet, his eyes crinkle with joy, and a ring set with black opal sits proudly on his finger. The wizard continues from the prev. page, "my son was such the worrywart. always needed his mimmy. learned a lot about managing anxiety through him. you'd do anyhing for your kid, of course, but there's something so special about the way they flourish, especially when it's hard won."
In the bottom left, her son sits cradling a baby. He's drinking from a mug-goblet that says "#2 dad", pinky out, tired out of his mind. Through a window a beehive is visible. "got a neb of his own. still has his rough days. the mindfulness of a good sip of his own brew helps, f'sure. so i get it." The mechanitch - "30's, probably" - thinks on these words with a shadow over her face, mug in front of her. She thinks of her 6yo self, crying with a cartoony spray and a missing tooth. The symmetrical neck-length hair gives the cute, androgynous look of a sweet boy who's too young to know being a girl is off-limits.

Anxious overcorrection in this week's "wizard car" (26/?)

The top quarter of the page is dedicated to the mechanitch sitting, sole-to-sole, one hand on her right leg and the other held up in gesture, looking anxious as anything but putting on a brave face. To our left is a shaded afterimage of her holding her head in her hands, steaming with frustration and gritting her teeth. To our right is the wizard, in silhouette, listening - not everything needs an immediate reaction. The mechanitch rambles in a HUGE speech bubble that dominates the page, coming apart a little at the seams. To one side of the bubble is another internal view ala page 16, of the vertically-lined circle saying "C'mon, sweetheart, we're at work..." to the 7-pointed star. To the other side of the bubble is a sequence of the wizard handling the goblet-mug she cloned on the previous page - tipping it out, then filling it with a "fizzzz..." by pointing the pointer finger on her other hand and, without speaking, using the „Summon Beverage" ability she mentioned prior.

The giant speech bubble, which is practically a panel unto itself, reads "A-a clean, instant duplicate? As one motion? I'm not really one for. Uh. Abstract casting? Never quite took to it, that's why w- I (underlined) work in hexomobiles and all the practical (underlined) stuff, but it's still sort of an interest of mine, y'know? So I thought what--"

This speech bubble is interrupted by the wizard. "girl.", underlined, "you need to *relax*, ay-sap." She forcefully hands the goblet-mug over to the mechanitch, who sheepishly realises her attempt to cover up anxiety has not worked and is letting out an involuntary "mmhhh" sound. As the mechanitch settles into a "sssssip", focusing on the bubbly texture of the liquid, the wizard says "this drink'll lift any dog in a storm."

It's the little things that catch your eye, both in and out of "wizard car". Doing a quick contrast postprocess to make up for not having a scanner! (25/?)

None of the regions have borders, but the functional panel 1 is the entire top third of the page. In it, the mechanitch sits sole-to-sole, one arm behind her knee and the other resting a hand on her ankle. She's looking over at the wizard tapping their finger against their mug-goblet. The wizard says, largely offscreen: "hah! no, purely for restorative purposes. my youngest keeps mannabees, and he's dang good at it - hold on."
The second segment of the page is the same perspective, a moment later. The wizard says "BANACH-TARSKAE-DIVISSIMO!" as she "YANK"s on the mug-goblet with her pinched fingers, creating what appears to be a complete duplicate of it. The one left behind rattles in-place, with some aftereffects. The mechanitch's whole temperment has shifted radically, astounded by the manuver! Her facial expression changes to a wide open mouth, the seven-pointed star previously seen on page 16 replacing both her visible eye and, if the point visible under her fringe is to be believed, the other one as well. Her eyebrows are floating just above her head. Ignorant to this expression of exuberance, the wizard continues: "-sorry, realised i broke my spare mug last month. i know, i know - did my best not to copy germs. i'll fill it with fresh stuff in a moment--"
The third panel has the mechanitch leaning over in continued childlike glee. She says "WHAT WAS THAT IVE NEVER SEEN A 'TRIP LIKE THAT BEFORE--", in a speechbubble that pointedly only has the top and bottom edges - also reminiscent of page 16.
The mechanitch shakes her head with a "shake shake" blur, then sheepishly says, eyes closed "I mean," with her standard speech bubble.

A moment aside in "wizard car". Been keeping this out of the thread but for posterity I am very thankful to everybody who tipped me for my work (24/?)

Top left is a borderless panel, of the wizard sitting cross-legged and taking a puff from her bong lead (with the giant glass bubbling thing behind her). She is relaxed but distant, with a mug of unknown liquid in front of her. The mug has a wineglass-like bottom and says "#3 Grammy" on it. Inset is her head turning a look of tiredness, one eye visible through the sunglasses, with arrows surrounding it. Smoke wafts out her mouth, which partially covers the next panel.
Panels 2, 3, and 4 are a sequence of very similar images. They depict the mechanitch walking over, sitting down (hands on knees and undersides of boots touching) and taking a deep breath, then releasing it with an "aaaaaahhhh" respectively. Compared to the previous pages, she has raised her respirator mask to the top of her head to take a moment of rest. The wizard keeps looking at the mechanitch through this, and is comedically pushed to the side by the giant speech bubble, taking another puff while this happens.
Panel 5 has the wizard pointing, sparkles off her extended index finger, bong lead between her knuckles, with smoke wafting out of the mouth again. She says "thanks for keeping at it. need me to fix you up something? Got „Summon Beverage" as a repeatable."
Panel 6/7 is the mechanitch looking distantly forward-down, then turning towards the wizard. She says "Sure." with a slight smile, then adds "As long as it's not status-afflicting. We both need to drive after this, mage." It's been a long day for both of them.

Page 22 of a pencil sketchbook.
Panel 1 is a dark view of the inside of the motorbroom's storage compartment, with some hazy outlines. light is visible through the borders, with a "clik!" happening towards the front.
Panel 2 is the same perspective, but with the hatch opened. The mechanitch's face is cast in shadow too, with a key hanging from the outside of what turned out to be the latch mechanism. The indistinct shapes are various canisters and boxes.
Panel 3 is a full view of, after a short passage of time, the newly kitted out mechanitch walking away from the motorbroom (with back compartment still popped open, and key dangling). Most noticable is her newly-applied respirator mask, with a glass visor which pushes her hair out her eyes. It is "Skla" branded, and one of the boxes from panel 2 is shown in an inset to make it clear where she got it from. She is also holding a strange wrench and a plastic-like bottle of "dempsey FINE TOIL MEDIUM - rated for CORVONE 1360s - 3L", which was also visible in panel 2. She says "Okay. Let's get this STARTED.", with her speech bubble wrapped in glass with a border - like her eyes - to suggest it's having a noticable effect on how her voice sounds.

Back on track with "wizard car". Playing around with panel composition... (21/?)

Basically every panel on this page has the letter "R" repeated a bunch, to indicate the terrible sound of the 3d printing fax machine spell is ongoing.
Panel 1 is a from-slightly-below view of the wizard and mechanitch together. In the wizard's sunglasses, the staff printing something is seen in stereo, mirrored. The wizard points towards the summoning circle. She says "summoning a nice writing desk for the scroll. might be a bit.", while the mechanitch is adjusting to the new sensory hell with clearly draining reserves of fortitude. With bags under her eyes, she bites the inside of her cheek and looks down at her hand.
Panel 2: A small inset. Continuous with panel 1, we can see the mechanitch continuing to hold the scroll tube she's been gripping in one way or another since page 9. She says "Well."
Panel 3: Larger inset. She rests the scroll tube in the area of the bonnet that she originally pried it free from with a gentle "put." The mechanitch says "Guess I can't fix this yet, then."
Panel 4: A side view of the car's bonnet. The mechanitch rests one glove at the edge of the bonnet and uses the other to pull what looks like a flexible dipstick out of the engine compartment. It is producing black, ichorous smoke with a low "sssss" sound, much quieter than the "RRRR" in the background but still noticable. She says "...oh gods. I suspected you needed a toil change, but the dipwand is downright necrotic." with underlining emphasis on "necrotic". This speech bubble is coming from a silly low-detail doodle of the mechanitch's head, with X-eyed tongue-poked-out expression of disgust and visible nostrils. An arrow points to her, with the label "smelled that nasty shit making the enscrypgine work 'good'"
Panel 5: The mechanitch jogs to her motorbroom with a little "----> jog!" label. The dipwand is not visible but black smoke continues to be slowly released. In the foreground, the wizard is low down and glances over-shoulder with a "?".

Sorry for the late "wizard car" update... the purpose of the titular wizard's spell is revealed! (20/?)

Panel 1 has the mechanitch looking a little shame-faced, wincing at some unknown chunk of history. As she glances to the side and her brow furrows, silhouettes of her in argument with an unknown figure appear behind. Estranged family? Ex partner? Who can say.
Panel 2 is the mechanitch in largely the same pose, but has suddenly glanced the other direction. The wizard also turns in that direction, with her eye barely visible behind the sunglasses. She says "hmm?".
Panel 3 is a wide shot of the summoning circle the wizard made, with her gun-staff floating above it perfectly vertically, crystal end down. The wizard thumbs over her shoulder, saying "oh, right. paused the spell. looked like you needed quiet."
Two insets of just her hand (with self-harm scars on the exposed arm) show a before-and-after of snapping her finger. This process produces sparkles.
Panel 4 is a closeup of the crystal touching tip-down in the dust of the summoning circle, with flaring energy buzzing off it. It sounds "FZZZTTT--", and an arc weld-like spark appears at its tip.
Panel 5 is the same perspective, with the gun-staff crystal having moved slightly. It is leaving a trail of slightly jagged material - the spell "azurmes fax machina", the magical version of the fax machine, has turned out to be a fax 3D printer! Unforutnately, it is producing a LOT of noise - RRR RRRRR RRRRRR RRRRR RRRR RRRRRR - which has brought back the mechanitch's exhaustion a millionfold. A silly little scribble version of her stares, a little braindead, in the bottom right corner of the page.

Watching Dr Who with a friend and remarking "That painting is beautiful. Like if JFK were allowed to grow old" and it knocked them over for ages. Their voice is still creaky with laughter

A painting as seen on Dr Who. Purportedly done by Vincent Van Gough. It kind of looks like JFK if he had grey hair. I don't know what it's actually called but it purports to be of a doctor which could go either way.

Turnabout is apparently fair play as "wizard car" barrels on... (19/?)

Panel 1 is a large view of the mechanitch, bending forward in the same bowing deference pose as on the previous page - hair hanging over awkward-expression face with tense eyebrows and half-closed visible eye, holding the scroll tube in her lap with both hands. Clouds are visible behind her. Along the bottom of the panel, four different poses of the wizard are visible in increasing degrees of awkwardness, including running her hand over the back of her head, and otherwise pointing for emphasis. The wizard says, in a winding series of text boxes:
"okay -"
"i... hm."
"where do i..."
"ok."
"i know i'm abrasive."
"my first husband made that clear."
"and i get... carried away."
"the staff thing was stupid." (with emphasis on the "was")
"you were never in danger, i'm a good aim."
"but you had no way of knowing."
Panel 2 is just the wizard in silhouette, slightly leaning forward, completely isolated. She says, as an extension of the above dialogue:
"so."

Ages ago we sought and got permission to make this design one of the major antagonists/bosses of the fangame "Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers". That story mode is not happening at this point but the affection remains
