I checked out Granville st early today and the city did a great job with it. That we have this only when company is coming is a symptom of how lost staff are on civic space (usually bc they’re cowed by parking zealots) and how much ABC council hates the idea of a healthy commons.

It feels like there’s been a surge of social cycling events in the past few yrs, which is so good to see. Stick together, vote together, we can get what we deserve and have a good time (And while I’m making it political that shouldn’t be the only overtone, but it’s inescapably always and undertone)

Wild traffic on 14th ave & Heather today. I’m guessing from a change in the Broadway diversion? Zero management by the city, when people say Vancouver is great for biking we have to look at many places where we are not great at all.

Haven’t posted the ol broadway subway trench for a while. It’s slowly filling back up.

I like a lot of what OneCity is doing and hope they lead the next council, but the funraising messaging is a bit floundering. $119.14 is my 'personally optimized monthly ask amount based on prior giving' I guess.

"A good place to eat and soak up the sun" This is bleak shit, overflowing with contempt for human enjoyment. The concept of public space is just alien to city of vancouver staff.

Speaking of, I haven’t done a good trench post in a while So here’s one. I haven’t done a few hundred from the same spot now since they started the project, gonna make that time lapse in 2027.
