Fourteen years after killing her uncle and brother, Queen Adûnaphel was soon met by the Dark Lord Sauron, who disguised himself as Annatar. She didn't trust him at first, but the Dark Lord offered a Ring of Power which recently belonged to her uncle during his rule. Reviled by the gifts offered by the Dark Lord, Adûnaphel accepted the Ring and fell under the sway of the Shadow.

This is for Lord of the Rings fans.

First of all, I respect Viggo Mortensen as an actor. He's great in Thirteen Lives, for instance. And he's clearly a dedicated, highly talented actor.

Second of all, it isn't easy to play the role of Aragorn. He's not very fully delineated in the book. He is very like Gandalf in some ways, but Gandalf gets a lot more dialogue and scenes - and humour!

Having said that, Viggo never made much of an impression on me as Aragorn in Lotr. There are excellent character portrayals in that film - Gandalf, Sam, and Gollum, in particular - but Viggo's just doesn't stand out. His Aragorn lacks charisma and emotion. It isn't easy to portray a character like Aragorn based on the books, because his predominant mood in the book is just 'grim'! However, while the 3 mentioned above did pull it off, Viggo just didn't.

I appear to be alone in this reaction, as everyone else in the world seems to love Viggo as Aragorn. But I just don't get what's so great about him. Not saying he's bad as Aragorn, or that I dislike him in the role, but he just doesn't blow me away the way he seems to for everyone else.

Netflix recently made headlines after using AI for VFX in its sci-fi series The Eternaut. So, of course, I have to ask you about the creeping use of AI.

I appreciate both sides of [the debate]. But the way the landscape is currently, using AI feels like you’re using the work of other artists. It’s like when you use Google to search for an image; I can’t then say, “I made that.” The tools that I’ve seen so far don’t yet give the artist enough control to own the creative, and I think that’s what copyright people are saying, too. It’s amazing what they can do, but for our show, it’s all man-made.

A new Netflix crime thriller series is climbing the streamer's charts, but you probably haven't heard of it

New crime thriller series The Survivors is climbing the Netflix charts, but it's slipped under the radar. Arriving on the streamer with seemingly little fanfare, the show doesn't even have a Rotten Tomatoes score yet from either audience or critics.

Since the show was released this past Friday (June 6), however, it's hit the top 10 worldwide and reached number four in the US, number three in the UK, number two in Australia and Ireland, and it's even hit the number one spot in Argentina and Venezuela (per FlixPatrol).

“You [Celebrimbor] are the biggest chess piece this season,” Vickers continued. “But it’s not like a king and pawn, it’s a very equal relationship. I think I need Celebrimbor as much as you need me, they’re very much partners. That’s what makes it quite a fun thing to play.”
Edwards was intent on emphasizing that Celebrimbor isn’t the type of personality easily swayed by Sauron’s tricks.
