Then it was on to the Starbeck Festival this afternoon, which was even bigger and better than last year. A brilliant celebration of our local community, with so many people coming together to make it such a success. Well done to everyone involved!

This morning, I visited Bilton & Woodfield Community Library, where it was great to catch up with local groups, including the Conservation Group and the Historical Society, and hear about the fantastic work they’re doing.

We need a proper cross-Government framework, working with our allies, to stop this normalisation and rehabilitation of Russia while their illegal war and crimes continue.

3. Netflix recently announced it has acquired two new seasons of the cartoon that even shows the 4-year-old Masha in military uniform. It’s unacceptable and frankly insulting whilst Putin still wages war in Ukraine.

1. Today in Parliament I raised the growing concern over “Masha and the Bear” a Russian cartoon streamed to British children on Netflix and ITVX, and flagged by Ukraine’s Centre for Countering Disinformation as a Russian soft power tool.

After a check over by a paramedic I got back up and finished, still managing to beat last year’s time clocking in 4:29:13! Absolutely chuffed. Just 87 days ago I was on my back in a hospital bed. 3/4

Right leg cramped, tried a hop, skip and a jump to shake it off and decked it! Managed to roll on the ground and not injure myself, and the guy behind me successfully jumped over me - felt a bit like a wounded animal in an Attenborough nature documentary. 2/4

Out knocking on doors around Oatlands this evening, and had some really lovely conversations along the way. A recurring theme? Residents are outraged that their Conservative councillor defected to Reform. Door after door of people saying our town doesn’t stand for that sort of divisive politics.

🔶 One of my jobs before becoming an MP was working in health economics research at the University of York, so it was a real pleasure to be back on campus last night - speaking and taking questions with the University of York Lib Dem Society.
