Mostly trains/some buses on here, rapidly becoming a station ticker. Railway worker. Views are my own, not of my employer
Spent some time on the Tarka Line, visiting some required stations such as eggesford. Also went to the new Okehampton Interchange station!
Quickly got some West of England stations done too ahead of a weather related temporary timetable coming in. Still got caught in some disruption though.
Some time in Devon yesterday, including HSTs on the coast and a 47 inland🔥 Always so much to see around here, brilliant part of the country! Also took the ferry from Starcross to Exmouth⛴️
Gloriously sunny day today, perfect for the West Coastway line! 20 or so stations ticked, lots of Electrostars caught but did get a break with a 153 passing through Bosham🤩 Stopped at Arundel and Amberley as well on the way back. Lovely places deep in the south downs!
Last day abroad before going back to UK, a very delayed ICE took me back to Belgium where I spent some time catching locos near Bruxelles before my Eurostar back home.
Had low hopes for this but was very much proven wrong by Flixtrain! Windows by seat open a small way, so could enjoy the full beauty of the loco for 5 hours as we went through station to station to Dusseldorf City🔥
Back into Germany, with some more Ceske Drahy locos to take me there🔥 First time to Dresden and then onto Berlin. The city understandably had a more sombre feel to it following the dreadful attack on Saturday night.
Time to move on from Krakow and jump on Ceske Drahy for the first time to Prague🇨🇿 I really needed to have more than 1 night in Prague, what an incredible city! It's going onto a future plan somehow because it's so good and there's a lot I didn't see.
First stop Antwerp, it's a cool station with multiple levels and being able to see them at the same time! From there, a fast run across Germany got me all the way to Frankfurt (Oder). Lots of locos all stored/resting in various sidings nearby🤩 Now to push further east...
Been a while, so it's time for a short break to the continent again 374032 takes me out of this country
Essex station ticking yesterday! Some nice stations visited including Wrabness, Bures and White Notley. Standout station though was Chappel and Wakes Colne, which has the East Anglia Railway Museum next to it. Great to get on some flirts too, quality trains🤩
Not your everyday sights in Loughborough and Leicester... Burton on Trent is closed this weekend due to engineering works so XC services are diverting from Brum to Leicester then along the MML to Derby.
Had 5 min at Vauxhall in rush hour recently, quite a busy station! Do like coming out of Waterloo and weaving between various skyscrapers.
Sweltering day in the north east yesterday, but able to get some more stations in across the region, as well as seeing the improvements to Darlington station! A couple of missed connections put my station total down by two, but a good day nonetheless.
Short visit up to Scotland, got a couple of walks in around Stonehaven and up above Dundee to Dundee Law on a lovely day. Also got a few of my final remaining HST powercars🔥
The Ffestiniog railway, what a stunner! First time on it, the scenery through Gogledd Cymru incredible 🏴 Started high up in Blaenau Ffestiniog before ending by the Sea in Porthmadog, with lots of scenic views on the way🤩
More stations ticked✅ This time it's stations between Bristol and Taunton. Yatton was really grand, still retaining lots of old GWR Architecture!
Visited stations in and around Preston and Blackpool on the weekend. Some debatable traction around but some really nice stations on the South Fylde line! Salwick the major achievement though, as it's only got a few trains each direction. Luckily they pass about the same time.
Warm day out today in the south of the country, ticking stations between Basingstoke and Dorchester! Briefly went to Lymington too which is lovely, as well as passing through the stunning New Forest. Bit of coastline too at times as well made for a great trip south☀️
Great journey all the way through to boiling London🥵 Fortunately the Aircon was pretty decent. It's clear to see though from today that these guys will not be regulated favourably against Avanti. All in all though, a fun first trip on Lumos west coast operations!
Star of the show yesterday, the Hastings Diesel consist! Seen thundering through Golf Street at some speed. Seems appropriate for me too that my first sighting of it is in 🏴
Visited Ince and Elton recently, another difficult station ticked! Not much there, however you can get an Amazon parcel delivered to the station 😂
Robin Hood Line ✅ Now done all the stations from Nottingham to Worksop. Line is fairly nice but there's some places on there I'll be happy never to go back to.
Really impressed by the variety of locos and formations of trains in Hungary. The children's railway was a brilliant visit too, managed to land one of their nostalgia trains as it's a bank holiday here. I left Budapest via regiojet, where a pint and a pizza slice costs €3!
All Liechtenstein stations complete! It took 36 mins to tick all 3 of them, Schaan-Vaduz, Forst-Hilti and Nendeln. That's the quickest I'll ever tick a country's stations😂 Then walked over the border into Switzerland 😍
Great day in and around Luxembourg today, where all public transport is free! I think this may be a future country to try and visit all stations at👀
Things really not going to plan so far on this trip, unexpectedly had to go via Mannheim to get to my hotel destination. Added approx 3.5hrs to journey. At least ICEs are very good long distance trains
