I’m gonna need someone in IT at Austin FC to block all calls to/from Dude Wipes before we have a proper fiasco on our hands.
Perhaps @capmetroatx.bsky.social should figure out how to fix the Rapid service because 37 minutes between buses is way below even the infrequent routes, much less the 20 expected on a rapid line on weekday evenings. Though the data is such a mess it’s hard to tell what is actually happening.
Today may not be the day for a visit to Secret Beach. The Colorado is moving thanks to two floodgates being completely open.
I can hear a Scottish man bellowing THE CHEATS THAT THEY ARE from miles away
It’s the same silly nonsense for offside with the phrase “deliberate” thrown in there so referees can whimsically change the call from match to match based on their own definition of the word.
Houston has the stadium name redacted (fine) as well as the street name because it is NRG Parkway. It’s the street name!
It is exactly 52 minutes from Anfield to Old Trafford at the moment. One could argue that Manchester United plays in Liverpool.
Date: 2024 Location: The I-70 frontage road near Arrowhead Stadium Description: A bus revolt is staged and crowds walk the final 20 minutes to the Copa America match because their transit is so awful, and through the suffering, we take comfort in knowing this will be fixed for the World Cup
I hate to break it to the Europeans, but last night’s thunderstorm in Austin was not even particularly noticeable. Biggest concern was KVUE using the severe alert ticker over the score graphics for the Spurs game rather than the top left hand corner popup.
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Infantino + Abbott + The Texas Longhorns
I am obviously voting for @zoforaustin.bsky.social again this year, but would like to highlight the, uh, problematic options to reduce costs of Project Connect’s light rail submitted by a fellow candidate.
Please pressure your friends and neighbors to get the MMR vaccination if they haven’t and are safely able to do so. Most responsible citizens got it as a child. Especially if they are traveling internationally. www.heb.com/pharmacy/vac... www.austintexas.gov/health/progr...
One of the people on this stage says we should emulate San Antonio’s Via Metropolitan Transit and re-do Project Connect with busses. It is the one who is actively suing to stop the project on the basis of the deal being unclear to voters. We should stop taking him seriously. #KUTFestival
So uh either Don Garber’s Twitter account has been compromised, or he’s just created an epic shit storm for the league. The person he is replying to is the Premier of British Columbia. x.com/thesoccerdon...
Y’all will be absolutely stunned by how you pronounce that name. Godspeed, Apple TV commentators.
Politest middle finger I’ve seen in a while, no surprise it’s from a Minnesotan.
tl;dr: A good stadium that is clearly important to the sport as a whole, but obviously rushed and should be concerning to the league that more than a decade of work to get it built culminated in a mediocre opening.
- Dumpsters and trash litter the grounds still, poorly shielded by temporary privacy fences - Concourses are fine though undersized like many MLS stadiums. - South end of the stadium ran out of food around kickoff, and beverages were only stocked in some stands after kickoff leading to warm $19 beer
- The rest of the complex hasn’t even started work. - Entry from transit is poor. 20+ minute walk across uneven paths and filtering between cars in parking lots is dangerous. - Closest gate to transit is the VIP entrance, a walk to the south side of the stadium on (amusingly) plastic grass.
