Is that our Stargate SG-1 Colleen Rennison?!

Colleen Rennison as Cassandra in the Stargate SG-1 episode "Rite of Passage." On her sixteenth birthday, Cassandra suffered a breakdown and was placed under observation at Stargate Base. She suddenly had the ability to move things by the power of thought. However, such actions also raised her body temperature to a great extent and she could have died from this overheating.

Cassandra demanded to be allowed to go back to her planet and when Janet Fraiser and the others saw no other way out, they agreed.

In the end, it turned out that none other than Niirti was behind all this, but she had already left the planet at that time.

Back at the base, however, Nirrti was found and agreed to heal Cassandra in exchange for her release. She apparently only appeared on the planet to find out what the results of the experiment with Cassandra were.

I think I agree with your sentiment, but that is not what "reactionary" means. Reactionaryism is a characteristic of conservatives, who were the reactionary faction (Réactionnaires) during the French Revolution. It was and is kind of a big deal.
