Lots of walking the past few days has left me feeling as old as what I think is a railroad water crane if my research is correct.
Serena is back at Wimbledon later today. 🤩🎾 Hard to focus while waiting. Wish I was back in London.

evening walk, golden light, and nellie locked onto two tiny judgmental bunnies on the sidewalk. she did not move and stared. they did not care.
the quail with the fancy hair walked in like she owned the place today. the rest of the crew just watched it happen. best part of the hike wasn’t the trail, it was the wildlife refusing to be impressed by me.
before the franklin mountains hike this past April, i stopped at Jalisco Café for breakfast — found it through Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi. breakfast was everything.
nellie has the right idea. we keep coming back to do we stay in texas or go? staying feels braver. there are fights worth showing up for. but also i'm tired. the low-grade exhaustion of living somewhere that keeps reminding you you're unwelcome. queer folks in red states: how are you weighing it?
Failed to summit the highest point in texas back in april, but a solo hike through Franklin Mountains the next day felt like a decent consolation prize. Learned what an ocotillo is. Saw some very exciting birds (future post). Decided the desert and I are good.
Nellie stayed home while we were in Atlanta and came back from her boarding stay with a very treatable but very terrible sounding case of kennel cough. Huge shoutout to Dr. Soileau at VCA Preston Park in Plano. She's taken care of all four of our westies and is simply the best.
Nellie did not appreciate the bath. She wants everyone to know that. Anyone have a pet that holds grudges after bath time? 🛁😒 #WestieLife
Surprised my sister with opera tickets for her 45th birthday, checking off a bucket list item. Then told her we might move to Europe someday. She was sad but understood. Sitting in that theatre I realized part of why I’ll be a reluctant expat isn’t the taxes or the visas. It’s the people. 🎭💙
Jason was sleeping so naturally my sister, cousin and I drove down to the Chattahoochee River. Some of us old timers know it from a song 😂🎵 We saw a deer, walked the trails, and attempted exactly one serious photo before Becky had other ideas. 😄 #Chattahoochee #Atlanta
Five years ago my life changed forever. A dog who was so sweet and loving despite feeling terrible came to us as a foster. Needless to say we “foster failed” and she did not leave until she had to sleep forever. My heart is still a little broken from her leaving us so soon. Cancer sucks. 😢
My very anxious little puppy does not approve of this. My yard on the other hand is a big fan. #springtime
Me too! Although a long day of ✈️ to get there. Have a good time there!
Just me and Nellie and Elle hanging out this Saturday night. Finally watching Predator Badlands. Been on my to watch list for a while. Excited to finally see it.
🤦🏻♂️ some people do want to just watch the world burn. Bomb one place but that means we must bomb someone else just in case.
Well did an upper body workout to start 2026. Going to try and keep it up this year. 🤞🏻 #gym #healthier2026
