It’s finally MINE!

A super colourful and queer day in Amsterdam!

The colours are something special this year, but our annual CookieFest has concluded.

Four trays of iced sugar cookies - stars, trees, snowmen, bells, mittens, and Santas all decorated with turquoise, orange, and various shade of purple icing. Some are topped with sprinkles and crushed candy canes. It’s a lot to look at. Too many shades of purple and some navy blue that’s almost black.

Last night was awesome. Thievery Corporation brought the house down and my boo had his own spotlight.

Why does my brain do this? When I use these multicoloured, silicone muffin cups, I always treat it like sudoku. The same colour can’t be in the same row or column more than once. They can’t even be diagonal. Anything else is wrong in my brain. Fun times.

Sometimes you have to start over. I just wasn’t in love with this project. I love the way the yarn is working up but a cardigan is more purling than I’m willing to do right now. So this gorgeous yarn needs to become a cozy, oversized sweater instead! Now to choose a pattern. 🧶🤔

Progress on my worsted weight Bluegrass shawl. People mention “potato chip knits” all the time and this is the most deliciously crunchy and perfectly salted potato chip knit of all time. I cannot stop and really don’t want to knit anything else! #SkyKAL #WIP 🧶

A knitting project in progress is laying flat on a white background. It is knit in two- colour brioche stitch, which means each side has a different dominant colour scheme. One side is predominantly navy blue/cadet blue and the other is multi-coloured in the pink, blue, and neutral beige categories. One end of the shawl in progress has multi-coloured tassels made from the ends of each strand of yarn used.

This is where I’ll be two mornings a week until mid-March. I’m so excited to be undergoing Peer Support Training. Whether or not this leads anywhere, I know I’ll walk away with new skills and knowledge - and that’s what it’s all about!

Nick’s final Christmas present finally arrived! Nothing perks a loved one up like a random present in the middle of January. It also came with the original comic drawn by Overton Loyd. I highly recommend this record. Parliament is the most funkalicious there is. I dare you not to dance to this.

Started another scrappy Bluegrass shawl - this time in worsted weight (and some fingering held double) - for the #SkyKAL 🧶🧶
