19. Fields of Mistria. Been enjoying this on and off since it launched in early access. The 1.0 release cements this as a favorite farming sim up there with Stardew Valley, Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, and Coral Island & I'll likely play again on console.
18. PowerWash Simulator 2 (Platinum). For games that are about mindlessly zoning out while cleaning up a variety of objects, I feel like people don't talk enough about how hard the story goes in these games. Mayoral corruption, ancient civilizations, prophecies, and time travel? Sure, why not?
17. Two Point Museum (Platinum). Lack of podcasting continues to free me up to just enjoy playing whatever calls me. Really loved this when it came out but moved on to whatever was next at the time. Two Point Studios might just be my favorite management sim studio right now.
PlayStation giving their app icon a GTA VI-themed makeover is giving me some real weird energy. I think the kids would call it "pick-me energy?"
Oh my god. After never getting the Persona 4 Golden Platinum on my Vita because of this trophy a decade ago, it looks like this will finally be the run on the PS4 version.
Happy Pride Month! Added a new @kindafunnyvids.bsky.social shirt into my collection of ally attire.
16b. The Platinum for 007 First Light. Fun going through and grabbing the various collectibles that I missed, while also attempting to clear new challenges throughout the various levels. Even more impressed with IOI as I continue to play with the different puzzles that each challenge provokes.
16. 007 First Light. After our Bond podcast a few years back, I have a fond appreciation for just how much love IOI poured into this game. A very fun adventure that has me hoping Amazon doesn't immediately shit the bed trying to control follow-ups and the franchise as a whole.
15. Mina the Hollower. Really liked the old school Zelda vibes. Really hated the soulsborne vibes. Only reason I didn't just delete this 30 min in was because of the Infinite Health modifier. Playing through the game with that confirmed that I will never have the patience to play it any other way.
14. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (Platinum). Charming LEGO humor with tons of Batman easter eggs and love strewn throughout. But i could've used more variety in the side activities. Way too many Riddler/Cluemaster/Waynetech icons on the map that took up 95% of the post-game.
13. Stardew Valley (Platinum). Always a great comfort game! Decided I would attempt to go for the Platinum trophy (as well as the 1.6 Perfection trophy). Got the Plat a couple days ago; kept playing until I had enough money for the Gold Clock, the last thing I needed for the Perfection tracker.
12. Mixtape (Platinum). Great musical follow-up to The Artful Escape! Hit me w/ the same nostalgia "place and time" vibes that movies like Ladybird or Perks of Being a Wallflower (and many others) give me. I never had the rebel streak these kids have but still saw enough of my experience to relate.
11. Hades II (Platinum). Great game is still great and addictive on PlayStation. Occasionally hit crashes where the audio would just drop out before the game froze/crashed, but that was a relatively minor hiccup. Also, yay for being a 1st 50 on a ton of those trophies (including the Plat)!
Lol at the fact that I never attempted this achievement when playing Hades 2 on my SteamDeck because I wrote it off as too hard but there's a good chance I'll end up in the first 50 who got the trophy on psnprofiles (it was also my first "Death to Kronos" run).
10. Super Mario Galaxy. Originally restarted this back when the bundle came out last year. The movie did its job as marketing for the games, so I hopped back in and mainline a simple 60-star completion.
9. Pokémon Pokopia. Rolled credits a couple nights ago. Continuing to enjoy the discovery of finding more habitats and Pokémon. This has been the first game where I haven't regretted getting the Switch 2 last year.
8. Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. This era of Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons is my forever comfort food. So I hopped in and played a couple years worth while waiting for other stuff to play.
I should make better financial decisions...but Happy Pokémon Day!
7. Yakuza 5. Wow am I glad to know that the next game goes all in on Kiryu again. Because every time 3-5 have veered away from him, it has been a chore to get through (until Kasuga takes over in Like a Dragon/Infinite Wealth).
6. Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. DQ7 has always been one of my favorites in the series but I would always fall off after 80-100 hrs. The episodic nature of the islands was always fun but just too much. So this version was a fun streamline for the nostalgia in half the time.
5. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. My first time finishing this remastered version. Still not a fan of the move away from turn-based combat or the lack of focus in the cast/narrative. But this also completes my recent run of replaying all the mainline entries.
4. Epic Mickey: Rebrushed. I have the original game on the Wii but I had probably stopped playing it by the time this game came out. I knew it was an Oswald the Lucky Rabbit love letter but didn't realize it was also a Disneyland love letter. Absolutely delightful time for this nerdy Disney Adult.
3. Cyberpunk 2077. First time replaying since launch (so also first time with Phantom Liberty). Really enjoyed the Phantom Liberty story and chaCityscape. Was able to play through the game with minimal issues at launch but here it still crashed a ton (on PS5). An overall fun revisit though.
2. FFXIII. Gave up on a remaster & replayed on my Steam Deck. Still one of my least favorite in the series but I was amused this time seeing FFXV as the structural inverse of XIII (XIII is mostly one long linear path until it opens up in the endgame; XV starts open and the endgame is a bad funnel).
1. Started the new year finishing up the Platinum for BALL X PIT. Lots of fun variety playing to complete each dungeon with each of the different adventurers.
30. Ball x Pit. One last game sneaking it at year-end. Absolute joy of a "one more run" game like Loop Hero, Vampire Survivor, or Balatro, this one with a mix of brick-breaker and city building mechanics.
10b. Replayed Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for one final Platinum trophy for the year. I didn't get into broken power builds when playing at launch but doing so this time really amped up the power fantasy vibes (one-shotting Simon felt like an insane thing that shouldn't happen).
