Tomatoes coming on strong. Have to pick them before completely ripe or the heat causes them to burst. The zucchini is struggling. I have lost one plant. The other has slowed considerably. It is staying so hot over night here. Leaving out H2O for wildlife.

Morning spent preparing for 70-80 mph winds, hail and rain today. Tied 🍅 plants to the cages and cages to the fence. Now to tackle the patio stuff. Ugh.

This was on our subdivision side street last night about 11 p.m. A first for us right in the middle of town. Our house backs up to a dry creek bed, so we will have to be careful with Miss Georgie.

Even though we live in an urban area, two male mallards have adopted our backyard. I have named them Huey and Louie. Georgie is fascinated with them, but gives them a wide berth.

Three inches of rain in the past two days. I am now battling squirrels that want to eat every hibiscus bloom that sets on. Hopefully they will leave my asiatic lilies along. Getting cayenne pepper to make squirrel deterent spray. Ugh.

I found these verbena at our garden center this spring. Such a beautiful color.

I found this at Homegoods a couple of weeks ago. My husband is going to seal her and it is going in my garden.

Went to garden center today for a few items. I found this variety of verbena I had never seen before. Have to wait to plant it because we are supposed to get more frigid weather next weekend. 😮‍💨 Will let it harden outside this week, bring it in this weekend. Ugh
