She/her. 47. Bisexual. Host of “Disaster Area” podcast (@disasterarea.bsky.social). Am about to spend the next four years as spitefully queer as possible.
Anyway, here’s the paint-by-numbers I’m working on. It’s a capybara in a teacup. (There are five others. 😊)
Me at work trying to subtlety check Bluesky for Lindsey Graham jokes:
*verify your age* I used to go into the library when I was, like, eleven and borrow these and no one ever stopped me.
I need that magic box for my dog so I can tell him, “Professor, just because they’re called pee pads doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to poop on them.”
There is a sculpture at the Flight 93 Memorial site called the Tower of Voices. It’s beautiful on its own, but if you stand in the center of it, there are 40 wind chimes (one for each victims) that you can see. In the wind, they sing like a chorus.
One of my coworkers took this photo today of Feather (a client dog) reflected in the pond and it looks SO COOL.
Me seeing that sign in the front, once my disgust has passed: “Oh, so you admit Michelle Obama is good-looking?”
The great thing about being finished with the move that I can finally sit my ass down and do absolutely fuck-all tonight.
Construction started on the White House in 1792. At most, it is 234 years old. *The country* is 250, dumbass.
I keep thinking of the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago, which whipped together all this between when it was awarded the fair in 1890 and the dedication in late 1892:
I posted this photo taken at dog camp today to the company Slack with the caption “You’re going to need a bigger boat” and I felt ridiculously proud of myself for that one.
On April 16th, 1947, the SS Grandcamp was docked in Texas City, TX, when it and its load of ammonium nitrate caught fire. At 9:12 AM, it exploded, destroying the city, including the Monsanto chemical plant 300 yards away. Sharing today for no reason whatsoever.
Who’s your favorite movie dad? Because I’m going to see it at the drive-in this week like I do every summer …
This is a chart I brought up in GasBuddy.com. You can put in a time and location and get where your gas prices have been over the past four years if you’d like. I put in four years and my area (Scranton) and came up with this. It was higher under Biden four years ago - but no time since.
QRP with the doctor you’d trust leading the hantavirus response instead of RFK Jr.
This is Positive Impressions Childcare on TikTok. They have several videos of them playing songs from the 70s for the kids and the kids are absolutely rocking it out.
I really, really hope I get the place I’m trying to get. Know why? It’s a house. With a yard. THIS GOOBER CAN HAVE A YARD.
Trying to get away from streaming music is a large part of why I started collecting records last year. I’m getting closer to 100 every week.
Oh, no, somebody at work said “Oh, you have a podcast?” and I proceeded to talk about notorious building fires for an hour and a half.
The one shot in “Die Hard” that has literally nothing to do with the plot but everybody notices.
If impeachments of presidents keep dying of acquittal in the Senate despite us doing it to nearly ten fucking percent of our presidents, maybe we should come up with a better way of getting rid of these assholes.
Professor loves McDonald’s. But he will love you if you take him to McDonald’s and get him a cheeseburger.
