In case I didn't crash out hard enough to make it obvious, I've officially hit the Xenoblade 3 video timeline! Still a long road ahead of us, but I'm hoping to do shorter sessions of VO and video editing more frequently to see if that helps me maintain a more consistent workflow.

(#40) Spider-Man: Brand New Day I'm trying not to let the hype overpower me, but this shit rocked. I was impressed by almost every fight scene choreography & cinematography-wise. They took the perfect direction with the story from No Way Home and the message resonated with me a lot. (1/2)

(#39) Idiocracy My offline friends got amped to show me this thinking back and I felt like the Joker watching it, LMAO. It's definitely not devoid of good bits, but many of its attempts at comedy feel like an excuse to be edgy and use homophobic & ablest slurs just to be edgy. (1/2)

(#38) Birdemic: Shock and Terror Pretty funny as a "so bad, it's good" type experience. Definitely some poor craftsmanship on display and the way it ends is truly awful. Nothing about it makes sense, and that's why it's a banger. You can also be sure it's got some A-tier special effects 👌

This, in particular, was so close to recreating one of my fondest early memories of this game. The transition from sunset to night, and that gorgeous music kicking in… Torigoth Night is super underrated.

(#37) Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed (re) This suffered the same effect as base game 3 where the distance I had from it made me convinced I somehow didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I do. Just about everything about this was even better than I remembered. Matthew is a fantastic lead. (1/6)

(#36) Spider-Man: Far From Home (re) IDK, man, this one just doesn't do it for me. It's got some cool stuff in it, but every time I watch I just feel blank. There's way too much bathos throughout the ENTIRE movie. Characters are at risk of dying and it doesn't give a damn, it's time for jokes! (1/2)

(#35) The Room I have to be honest when I say that I was sincerely disappointed this movie wasn't worse. I genuinely think Neil Breen has ruined bad movies for me. This was fairly competent as far as camerawork, music, audio balancing, and plenty of actors do a decent job in this. (1/3)

(#34) Cade: the tortured crossing I still think Fateful Findings is the best of Breen's work, but this was hilarious too. Maybe better than Twisted Pair? There's a lot of overly long scenes, and a lot of actors are in multiple roles, but the confusion makes every left field twist even funnier. (1/3)

(#33) Spider-Man: Homecoming (re) This movie gets even better each time I watch it. As much as I prefer when Spider-Man is self-sufficient, it's interesting seeing how Peter fares in a world with much larger things happening around him. Toomes in the car is still the best scene in the movie.

Curious if any followers/mutuals have any albums/bands I should listen to? I’m talking like normie music or just non-video game music. Lately I’ve really been digging Rumours by Fleetwood Mac and various Frank Sinatra “best of” playlists, but I’m down for any genre.

Physical media is cool! I love having a tangible belonging associated with my time playing or experiencing a work of art. Like, I just bought a bunch of terrible movies on DVD and now I can go “wow, this is *MY* copy of this!” I don’t want that to be gone 😓

Hey all, update on A Dive Into Xenoblade 3, let it be known that work is being done! I've done nearly everything in the main game aside from Archsage Gauntlet. I have a LOT of words written down. Rest assured, I think as much as 1/8th of this may be cut, I jot down a lot of shit, LOL.

I can’t believe I forgot to say something after that direct, but Xenoblade Genesis looked awesome and I’m stoked! I’m so happy I did not recognize a thing in that trailer besides the orb in the weapon recording the wielder’s memories and thoughts. I can’t wait to see them do something truly new!

Once again, I have found myself rewatching Xenoblade 2 cutscenes and am enthralled that I still care about this game as much as I do. They could never make me hate you, Xenoblade 2, never! Fuck it, I'll probably do a full replay when the Switch 2 Edition comes out.

The way they just plopped Melia onto that thing so suddenly killed me 😭 Like, Shulk or Reyn would kill to ride on that, why Melia?!

Games 7 & 8 - May 30th-31st - Jamboree TV - Goomba Lagoon & Rainbow Galleria I cannot believe it, Pyro asked me to buy Jamboree TV so we could record the new modes together… they’re offline only, no gameshare. THEN, we play a Frenzy game and a normal game, both of which started with THREE THROW.

(#31) Xenoblade Chronicles 3 (re) I'm experiencing a strange emotion, rolling credits on this again. It's not disappointment, but it's not a big, newfound appreciation either. I do overall enjoy this game as an experience more now, having done nearly every quest and maxing my party out more. (1/5)

Game 6 - May 29th - Jamboree - Goomba Lagoon This game I explained what makes plunder chests so annoying to my sisters. We also talked about the technological curve in game graphics. That, and squid game + the hunger games, forgot how we got on that topic though, LMAO.

Game 5 - May 27th - Superstars - Yoshi’s Tropical Island I got embarrassed when DK dueled me for all my coins and I lost. I thought, surely, in the asteroid dodging game he’d make a mistake. He didn’t 😭

(#30) Fateful Findings I cannot describe the experience of watching this. It was truly the best “so bad, it’s good” film I’ve seen. So many things happen, none of it makes sense, it’s a blast to watch with friends. 11/10 - “I am resigning as president… of the bank.”
