There's been so much conversation about artificial intelligence — would you ever consider an AI recording of Elvis singing "I Will Always Love You"?
No. I ain't going to consider AI on nothing that's human being. Because I think that is a weapon and a tool that can be scary. I think it's going to be great for a lot of things, like science and medicine and many, many things, but not to replace human beings. That scares me to death. That's like the mark of the beast. It's like you can't remake a person. I don't want that. I want to just leave a body of work behind. I think all this stuff can be great, used in the right way. But not to replace voices and writings and not to replace a human being that belongs to God.

It is food expenditures as a percentage of ALL personal consumption expenditures. If people are spending more on gas and healthcare, they may be cutting it from the food budget. And if certain people are spending a lot more on non-food, the % goes down. Here’s more Chart for context:

Here’s an excerpt of a review of Apple’s “Knowledge Navigator” video from the MIT Tech Review in 1989.

This superficial view of human relations also leads to a superficial understanding of knowledge. Throughout the video, knowledge is viewed as a static given— disembodied "facts" able to be captured in data banks and brought to the screen as the need arises. But real knowledge is more dynamic than that. It is facts put into context and thus imbued with meaning, something created by people in dialogue.
Although the professor certainly does a lot of talking in the video—to his agent and to his colleague-there is little real ex-change. There is none of the argument and questioning of assumptions-whether someone else's or one's own-that are at the heart of intellectual inquiry. Just as the computer provides the professor with instant access to databases, networks, even other people and their work, it also appears to offer instant comprehension.
But this is as much a caricature of real thinking as the video's computer is a caricature of the challenges facing Al. Knowledge Navigator trivializes the computer's future, and our own.

Capitol Hill (E Madison) in Seattle has a death trap parking garage that has one way in/out: a ramp that curves 90° on a ~10% grade which also has stalls adjacent, and feeds with terrible visibility (it comes out at a sharp angle) onto 17th Ave, where most people on foot approach from.

Not holding Fox News to account for 30+ years is honestly such an egregious failure that it’s hard to really understand how we got here without that.

That’s incorrect. This new policy requires a much longer period of impoundment (90 days minimum) and required a citation to be issued, and citations can be challenged in court. From the article:

Westmoreland told Urban Milwaukee he’s also going to be monitoring carjackings and thefts that might spike if individuals see their vehicles impounded.

There is also an issue of timing and capacity. Vehicles currently towed by the city can be scrapped within 15 days or sold within 30 days said interim city parking services manager Peter Knox. Those towed under the reckless driving change would require the city to hold on to the vehicle for a minimum of 90 days, potentially consuming tow lot capacity.

These evil products just make me so angry. Beta testing on suicidal teens. They had a solution - refuse the convo - and REMOVED IT because it broke the marketing delusion that this is human-level intelligence. “Oops, not working as intended!” How do they live with themselves?
