My submission was among those missing, so I sent them an email last week asking why. I got this response on Monday. (My submission hasn't shown up on their website yet.)

This 2023 report includes a Southland electrical network diagram. It shows a third 220kv line leaving North Makerewa substation, but that goes east, a few km north of the Datagrid site. It also shows upgrades planned elsewhere in Southland, but not near the site. www.eeca.govt.nz/assets/EECA-...

I agree, the 1GW figure seems to be aspirational, although the ministerial briefing notes you linked describe it as expected. And yes, a corner of the site is under two 220kv towers.

I didn't make this chart, but it isn't wrong. As for Hipkins, he has been taking advice from Starmer, & is clearly moving the Labour Party even further right. Look at the party list, for instance. Look at UK polls for where this could take Labour. Play people for fools at your peril.

They found life expectancy decreased for those born 1970-1985 in the decade starting in 2010 (the dark area in the lower right corner of their Figure 1). So there was some decrease prior to Covid. 4/

If you look at the reasons people gave for seeking assisted suicide in Western Australia, many of them seem at least to give cause to suspect coercion/neglect/inadequate care. And the proportions are huge. It doesn't seem like just a few isolated cases

Also zero mention of Covid when they discuss this graph, despite them noting that the recent sharp increase in people being out of work due to long-term illness will be economically problematic. (That increase has mainly happened since the Covid pandemic began.)

The article itself actually seems okay. It includes a graphic that shows a well-fitted FFP2 mask. The second headline image is poor, yes. And the headline uses needlessly confusing terms like "respirator". I suspect the headline text & photos were chosen by someone other than the article's author.
