Back to normal Sunday routine: waiting in Maclean before heading to Yamba to return n earn bottles/cans. The new heat lamp/fan/light in dad’s ensuite has turned into a 1,2 and 3am sunrise-with exhaust note. Looking for a plan B, that involves us getting sleep.
Waiting for the wee fairy penguins at Stanley, north west coast, Tasmania. 3 layers kept the night air out.
Trivia at the easy tiger in St Helens on the nth east coast of Tasmania. We came in a respectful 4th. Great burger/fish n chips at this micro brewery/cinema/eatery. Bloody cold by the time it concluded.

At work this morning, what looks to be an army grub(Spodoptera mauritia)…in mid winter! That’s just insane. No signs of damage though.
Another win with machinery! The 45yo roller(several rebirths) is back operational. This one tested the patience. Kevlar belts and a 18yo Honda motor-which is no longer supported for parts but loctite products fill the gaps.
This is mid winter, I’m still in a t-shirt after sundown. Feels more like Townsville every year.
Behind that cog is the drive clutch(17” supaswift cylinder mower). One of this week’s mechanical successes. It took quite a bit to grind off the old material but we got there and it drives like new.

Yesterday’s fun in the mizzley rain. Transferring digitaria didactyla(qld blue) from old croquet green to around the fig tree out back.
Success! Repaired the cylinder drive clutch cork-in the middle section-first time tackling it and am slightly impressed with myself. The rear drive one needs doing too. Mañana.
Turned up for water safety but ended up searching for a shark for 25mins in the rubber duckie(irb). 2 days in a row no sighting but the drone made a positive I’d. noise? Or do we smell?
Lunch before picking dad up from Gold Coast uni hospital. Cities have their uses.
State women’s sides champ 2wks ago, now able to feed and raise height of cut. Bouncing back nicely, oh, and 23mm soft rain over 2 days certainly helped.
Good night out celebrating special K’s milestone b’day and skippy was there to greet us on returning home.
Birthday sparkler for hard working greens/maintenance/events etc etc 6.5 yrs teaming up on the greens.

Sunday morning in Maclean again. Work done - foliar fert(phosphite/silica/liquid organics) applied and a green cut and rolled for any possible heathens practicing on a Sunday. It’s already28C I’m sweating.
