#LeedsPride today and me and my trusty camera will be going along to show solidarity. Been looking at old photos to remind me why it's worth leaving the house for! Maybe this will be the year it doesn't make me cry?

Also on the topic of Leeds city centre, it's taken months to destroy the CORE shopping centre but it's nearly done. Intention is to build yet more high rise student accommodation but it's so lovely without a building there. Can't we have a park instead? State of HE, that might be wisest anyway!

I think I am finding it so frustrating because I can see for myself that the post has not in fact been deleted. We follow each other but now I just get this every time:

We went to Kerrara Island yesterday, briefly because daughter gets up after noon. She was really struggling and I expected it to be grim but she was like a different person after a few mins. Happy chat and taking photos. More days (or hours) like this are needed.

Not to gloat, but look at our holiday weather! Sorry you can't breathe though. That's nasty.

Apparently it's really hot 🥵 in England. Here, near Oban, we too have a moderate weather warning: for heavy rain and flooding. Wyrmspan afternoon it is then. Son and his girlfriend with us and quite happy not to be camping currently!

Last weekend: a scorching and abbreviated visit to sweltering Paris. Next off for a distinctly less balmy trip to Scotland. Bit less rain would be welcome. Now... What to do in Oban in the rain?

We are in Paris watching a thunderstorm from the 11th floor balcony. Rain on my toes is very welcome. Exhausting journey and very hot but oh my goodness, their public transport is fantastic. Also, is there football on?

We are booked on Eurostar to Paris next Friday. I am not good in hot and our accommodation for the 3 nights is 11th floor and has no aircon. This is the forecast for the days leading up and it makes me want to weep. That's enough climate change now.

Finished! I am really rather pleased with my first machine-sewing project in years. I have learned that a Learn to Sew pattern is very different to an Easy pattern! And I love the way my progress Pride meeple makes it unique. Go me!

Big shout out to The Little Bookshop in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, for making me smile on the bus to work. In a year when visible support for LGBTQ+ people seems quite hard to find, visible allyship is all the more valuable. And they're lovely in there too 🌈🩵🤍🩷

I've never seen this #moth move (think it's a moth, but not sure due to flat wings!) but for the past few days it's been appearing in different bits of the house. It looked particularly pretty on the bathroom mirror.

And 40 percent of Britons are very stupid or deluded?

Spotted at our local Wex camera shop. What does it even mean? Also, amazing how the brain reads what it thinks it should say. My husband just couldn't see it at all!

Staying in visitor suite on top floor of retirement home in Croydon. It's 24 degrees outside and in the room feels like over 30. There is one window that opens and this is how far. I want this night to be over so I can go back to Yorkshire where it's chillier!!

My daughter's bed. Duvet entirely and permanently the property of the small black and white cat snuggled at the back. Her daughter, Ollie, has sneaked up and awaits eviction (which follows swiftly after I snapped). #caturday

Stall day at lovely, local horse and donkey sanctuary. Small customer has deranged our stock, but quite like their random display.

If you're ever passing @rspb.bsky.social Haweswater site I'd highly recommend a visit, especially if you can also book in a visit to the badger hide on site. We couldn't stay till closing time due to long journey 'home' but magical to see living badgers up close. Plus, cute and speedy mice.

Bus to Ambleside today and it's the last full day of my holiday, in which I will reunite with the rest of the family. Been awake since 5am fretting, but have at least finished jigsaw. Think the cross stitch may be over-ambitious though: 25 mins till I need to leave the house!

Wow, thank you BlueSky! I did my walk and cried with pride (&pain a bit) at the halfway point). Sat on a bench, with the spirit of my Mum, overlooking Tarn Hows and ate the nicest jam coconut ring ever! 18 years since Mum died but she'd have been 80 on Monday and it's hit me hard.

We did #NoMowMay 2 years ago and the brand new petrol mower we had bought and used twice clogged up through disuse. Never did get it working again so the garden now looks like this. We do have to dig up saplings and cull brambles but that's it.

Surprising sunshine in Coniston today. The shoulds tell me I have to go out while it isn't raining, but the sun is baking in through the window and I have a teeny, achievable (in 3 days?) cross stitch to do. Finding it hard to move myself!

... Lovely solitary walk up a steep rocky path beside a stream. Sheep (and baby sheep), horses and a million enthusiastic birds for company. Buzzard screeching overhead. Next time, I will remember walking stick &water to make it even better?!

This is Cassie, a rescue. Two years ago, aged 5, she had all but 11 teeth out & was really unwell after. Last year's vet check the vet said "she's had a broken jaw that's set wrong". We were mortified & couldn't work out how. Friend's cat had similar op y'day and jaw was broken. Common apparently 🤬.

Day off work today so was determined to do something nice. Persuaded my daughter to come for a walk on the woods. Took a fall en route but less bashed up than other times and managed to carry on and enjoy this loveliness 🥰

Personing a stall with my currently nonverbal daughter. 3 hours in and 1.5 to go. We have sold 4 of our turtles so far, total value £24. It's looking like we won't even recoup the stall fee, never mind the bus fare to get here.
