An extremely respectable cheese plate with some 8 months goat cheese and a truffled creamy tomme. Also two slices of bread, a kombucha bottle, a Tourtelle and a gazpacho carton (it was a nonalcoholic day) but really the focus is on the cheese plate, there's three different knives.

Every time I see someone hugely successful sharing his "way to the top," I'm reminded of this quote. It's especially true of most senior game devs now, who built their careers in easier years. A "don't" might be harsh, but it feels more honest to me.

I would say don't take advice from people like me who have gotten very lucky. We're very biased. You know, like Taylor Swift telling you to follow your dreams is like a lottery winner telling you, 'Liquidize your assets; buy Powerball tickets - it works!'

One of my biggest pet peeves is that if your story has roots in classic bloodlines and inheritance tropes, and your main character is a firstborn who, because of some technicality, cannot be the heir, that character should be a woman.

Eh, fuck it. Did writing and ND for some fan projects, then finally got a legit job last year, which nibbled at my impostor syndrome enough for me to claim this is #WhatAGameDevLooksLike! I bring a "what if both these characters were women" energy to the writers room that guys don't always love.
