I've just been alerted to the existence of this product, which is extremely obviously designed to be a device that lets you cheat in school!
And lastly, this context is important. Incentive structures breed behavior. AI dependency in academia is rewarded. Obviously, there are analogous things happening outside of academia as well, but it is a real and illustrative example.
The whole article is great and expands on the exact fear I've had since the beginning of this whole AI debacle. Here, though, is something crucial. Coming up with the right inputs and supervising outputs ARE the skills needed to get AI to do something useful as well as run a research program.
