a house that is decorated with near a dozen american flags for 4th of july. there is one big flag hanging outside and tons of little ones in the windows. the flags in the windows are, i assume, meant to be viewed from inside; from outside the house, they all appear to be backwards.

a sign on a front door, handwritten partly in red marker and partly in gray marker: "attn delivery drivers: the next 1 of you to open my door will have the cops called on. i will take it as a threat + punch you in the face! learn to read! this is unit 1, not 2. my door should never be opened. i will also call your job."

a few weeks ago, my 1yr-old baby noticed the giant gorilla mask that sits on the shelf in my closet. at first, she was nervous & scared when i put it on. now, first thing every morning, she demands that we hold her up to see it & screams with delight when she gets to pull it down and play with it.

i'm now receiving AI book-marketing scam emails addressed to totally different people who are not me... ...about books that i did not write... ...books that are about a fictional race... ...of huge men... ...called... ...the Hugeman.

an AI book-marketing scam email:

"Dear J T,

I just finished E-Rath, and I want to say this up front. You wrote a story about a planet 99.9 percent identical to Earth, except for one thing, the Hugeman, a race twice the size of humans who have evolved within an environmental conservationist, resource based society and see themselves as the ultimate empathisers. They despise humans with a ferociousness that is unsurpassable, and they have taken the dogmatic quest of ridding the galaxy of any matricidal killers of their own Mother planet. But what makes this work is not the intergalactic invasion or the evolutionary history or the real time accounts. It is the fact that Ygoroo takes us on an evolutionary journey through Erathian history, trying to explain the psychology and dogma that set Hugeman on their galactic quest, and in doing so, forces us to see ourselves through the eyes of those who despise us. That is not just a sci-fi premise.
