One final play session before she heads to her new life at the shelter. We are going to miss this sweet girl so much, but she is going to make some other family so happy!
48hrs ago this girl wouldn’t let us get near enough to touch her, and now LOOK AT HER
Tomato has made so much socialization progress! In just 24hrs she went from a scared girl filled with hisses who spends all her time hiding in the back of her crate, to a curious, playful fur ball full of purrs who just wants to be pet.
It has taken us two days, but she finally realized that if she licked the Churu packet instead of hissing at it and attacking it, it was actually pretty good.
That feeling when you really want to chase the toy but are also too scared to come out from your hiding spot.
Update. We introduced her to her first teaser toy. At first she was just confused, but couldn’t take her eyes off it. Eventually she reached her paw out to touch it. She still hasn’t figured out how to play with it, but I’m sure she’ll catch on quick.
She is still very nervous and scared, and still attacks us if our fingers get within 6in of her, but is eating and using the litter box and has stopped crying all the time.
The Flock camera system now allows cops to treat the system like a surveillance search engine, asking it to find people based on physical characteristics and clothing. And we are all in there basically every time we step outside.
“Justice Dept. subpoenas N.Y. Times journalists over reports on new Air Force One, in latest example of unusually aggressive move” Sorry WaPo, but what exactly is “unusual” about this? This is Trump’s M.O.! He is literally famous for aggressively siccing his lawyers on people he feels wronged him.
Me trying to explain to people why they should listen to my Star Trek Enterprise podcast
It's true! I did manage to identify this book on Trip's shelf via tracking down the auction site where the book was sold to a collector and zooming in on photos from the auction. It's a book of Italian political philosophy from the 19th century.
In case any of you thought I was just joking about wearing ENT blue undies for a photo with the Enterprise cast at DragonCon this year. The fabric for it just came in and it’s PERFECT.
This child from the White House science fair was ALL OVER the Obama Center in photos, videos, and even a section with miniatures of the science fair, with a tiny doll version of the kid. Someone needs to track him down to see if he knows how prominently he is featured in the Obama Center museum.
During early access, the email said we couldn’t take photos of the exhibits, which is why I mostly took pretty photos of the building itself or the view from the top floor.
I got to visit the Obama Center during early access last month and it was a lovely tribute to President Obama and the power of activism. Also there is an entire section devoted to Bo and Sunny and you can take a photo in a replica Oval Office.
This part really gets me. Where is the money for the farmer subsidies going to be redirected from? It seems to imply that somehow it’s going to come from the SNAP funds themselves, as if preventing purchasing soda with SNAP would mean that money could go to farmers instead of just to other food.
Just checking to see the danger level of trying to get into my own bed
How do the towels in my bathroom constantly end up on the ground when I always make sure to hang them? My bathroom must be haunted. There is clearly no other explanation.
Whaaaa??? UFO photos are murky and show what could be anything? Never would have guessed.
Apparently in Utah, university students are banned from using the word “DEI” in papers about the state law that bans DEI at public universities.
