The 2026 NEACD draws to a close today. Over the last two days, participants have discussed how to build trust and mitigate conflict among adversaries and allies in the Asia-Pacific region. Many thanks to our hosts and the IGCC & NEACD leadership who made this year's dialogues a success!

The 34th Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue begins today in Seoul. This Track 1.5 dialogue, established by IGCC in 1993, gathers representatives this week from the U.S., China, Japan, South Korea, and Russia for discussions to further peace and prosperity throughout the region.

This afternoon at Public Policy and Nuclear Threats (PPNT) Boot Camp, participants tackled simulations in breakout groups before presenting their solutions. Tonight's reception and closing keynote from Dr. Kim Budil will formally bring this year's event to a close!

The penultimate day of our PPNT Boot Camp was jam-packed with sessions, including morning lectures from Rolf Mowatt-Larssen and Kim Knight on nuclear terrorism and nuclear forensics, and a lunchtime seminar on presidential sole authority over nuclear use led by Linton Brooks.

Today at PPNT Boot Camp, we were pleased to welcome two representatives from Livermore National Lab's Center for Global Security Research (CGSR), Brad Roberts and Michael Albertson. Our thanks to Brad and Mike for sharing their presentations on the Two Peer Problem and Strategic Stability with us!

The 33rd Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue kicked off in Singapore yesterday. Participants from China, Japan, Russia, South Korea and the U.S. discussed how to build trust and mutual respect among adversaries to prevent conflict in the Asia-Pacific region.

Yesterday, IGCC's new and returning Postdoctoral Fellows met in Washington D.C. for an orientation day that included a meeting with U.S. State Department historian Dr. James Wilson, and an exclusive tour of the State Department's Navy Hill facilities, including the former headquarters of the OSS!

IGCC is in Singapore for the 33rd Northeast Asia Cooperation Dialogue, beginning the week with an academic workshop exploring how Southeast Asian economies are reacting to shifting geopolitical alliances & the U.S. upending of the global trade order. Stay tuned for more updates!

Training is underway for our inaugural course on "Understanding China’s Science & Technology Ambitions," led by IGCC nonresident fellow Jimmy Goodrich. Over the next two days, Jimmy will unpack China’s evolving science and technology policy landscape.

Dispatch from PPNT: On Day 3 of this year's boot camp, participants heard from Laura Rockwood (Senior Fellow, VCDNP) and Laura Holgate (Former U.S. Ambassador, @iaeaorg.bsky.social) on the international safeguards that are in place to reduce nuclear threats and increase security around the globe.

Today, IGCC hosted a workshop on the state of Chinese science, technology, innovation, and industrial policy in Washington, DC. The culmination of a three-year project, the discussions explored a transformational new phase of China’s economic development.
