No, it was always an anthem celebrating heterosexuality. Couldn’t you tell from the costumes? “No man does it all by himself, young put your Pride on the shelf… They have everything for young men to enjoy, you can hang out with all the boys.” What’s even vaguely gay about any of that?

The same people who reassured me for years that “Farage has never won a parliamentary seat and never will!” now tell me that a party that won 14.3% of the GE vote share and now has 8 MPs and recently won 2,400 council seats and 14 councils poses no real threat? This taught us nothing apparently…
And the really scary thing is that it can only be achieved with the willing collusion of the stupid and spiteful.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled, (as someone may once have said, or not). It will be dismissed as “fake news” and refuted by “some bloke on Facebook”.
If you want an insight into why people consistently vote against their own self interest just to deny others and/or for some misplaced sense of “a greater cause”, I recommend this study of poor white USA. If you accept we are all the same species, this is how malleable we are when we deny reason.
I suspect this fucker (currently standing to be Governor of California) convinced Cameron it was a “wizard wheeze” because he wanted the outcome we got. He was to Cameron what McSweeny was to Starmer, the malign political puppet master working against the UK for (well you can guess as he’s MSGA now)
