she/her, dispelling any confusion
I'm sorry, what is that child doing at the hearing about Todd Blanche's nomination to the office of US Attorney General? Blanche just mentioned his family, is that one of his daughters? Why would he bring a child that young to a hearing where he's talking about crimes, drugs, guns, violence, etc?
She's a work in progress! And with still fewer than 20 big league games total under her belt, she has a long way to go before she becomes a permanent member of the mlb umpiring staff. Here's her @umpscorecard.bsky.social scorecard for that recent game in St. Louis:
Unveiling ceremony for team names, uniforms, and logos of the Women’s Pro Baseball League at the New Era flagship store in Manhattan yesterday. All names are homages to women baseball pioneers, and all the @wpbl.bsky.social WPBL women are READY TO PLAY!
Would you want to work for someone you knew would throw you under the bus the minute some troglodyte demanded that a ruling you made be overturned? In sports officiating, it's crucial for umpires and referees to be able to trust their supervisors to back them up. Who would want to be one otherwise?
For the next 48 hours, New York and environs will experience heavy rains, 6-inch accumulations in places, and flash flooding with a relentlessly red, orange, and green blob of saturation advancing slowly eastward A break in the heat is the only salvation in this messy forecast. Stay safe, everyone!
When I was 12, I had to memorize the Nicene Creed to take communion at my Presbyterian church. I wonder if Vance can recite even one line of the creed from memory. (Actually, I don't wonder.) f anyone "butchers" its doctrines, it's Vance, not people who hang "those hideous signs" in their yard.
Lang is a click-baiting punk. Probably doesn't believe a word of his own placards about Black people, but parades around with them anyway to get the attention he craves. He also hung that despicable "Deport 100+ million" banner at Nationals Park last month and got himself banned. Good riddance.
I see what is happening here Yes, the Mets just got rid of this guy, Dick Lovelady, and the whole world stopped joking for a moment out of respect
My beloved Matty loved butter too! I'd put some on my lips and she'd lick it off with her scratchy tongue, and it was bliss She's been gone almost 30 years now and I've had several since, but I'll always cherish the 12 wonderful years we had together. Thinking of your precious Becky today too, Dana
A correction and a reminder of why it's a good idea to cool off before rage-tweeting: Andrew Giuliani did NOT make the decision to bar Omar Artan from entering the US, he only merely AGREED with Customs and Border Patrol's decision to deny entry because of what's called "derog," derogatory info.
Even more enraged after reading that the decision to bar Artan was made by Andrew Giuliani, entitled son of Rudy, who in 1996 kept tens of thousands of Yankees fans outside in the freezing cold, prevented by police from going to their cars so he could play catch with his dad on the field.
Sometimes all it takes is one kind person. Such a sweet memory to have of a good man, and he loved cats too.
The woman he's insulting is SURROUNDED BY OTHER WOMEN How they can just sit there, complicit by their inaction, is beyond me. Their silence might as well be approval of his disgustingness. These pressers just give him the attention he craves; they're unnecessary since all he does is lie. End them.
Here's her umpire scorecard from last week at the White Sox, Michael - she's definitely holding her own1
Even more disappointing, when I went to the GIST website and signed up for the newsletter, it offered an opt-out of sharing, selling, or processing my personal info by exhorting me to "just click the 'Reject All' button." Guess what? There was no "reject all" button; I had to do it one by one.
Absolutely, iamashleystearns But placing that expectation upon children & young people is unreasonable when they didn't cause the problem we're asking them to fix. The ones who lead the way, as brave Ruby did, should be lauded, but those who choose a different response should't be held in contempt.
Of all the things I've ever done or accomplished, being an identical twin was always the best part of everything. Thanks, mom, for the greatest gift I've ever gotten (You gave me the second best gift I'll ever get too, by encouraging me to become a baseball umpire.)
