I'm sorry, what is that child doing at the hearing about Todd Blanche's nomination to the office of US Attorney General? Blanche just mentioned his family, is that one of his daughters? Why would he bring a child that young to a hearing where he's talking about crimes, drugs, guns, violence, etc?

Would you want to work for someone you knew would throw you under the bus the minute some troglodyte demanded that a ruling you made be overturned? In sports officiating, it's crucial for umpires and referees to be able to trust their supervisors to back them up. Who would want to be one otherwise?

The Mets started the half-inning with a 6-run lead that was whittled down to a two-run lead with one out when Drake Baldwin hit a grand slam into the left field stands. The game ended painfully with the Mets barely hanging onto a 10-9 lead when former Mets favorite (today's too, just in a different uniform) Dom Smith struck out swinging.

When I was 12, I had to memorize the Nicene Creed to take communion at my Presbyterian church. I wonder if Vance can recite even one line of the creed from memory. (Actually, I don't wonder.) f anyone "butchers" its doctrines, it's Vance, not people who hang "those hideous signs" in their yard.

Text of the Nicene Creed:

"I believe in one God,
the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,

Nowhere does the Creed command that we close any borders, force invasive genital checks on athletes, hate homosexuals, abandon poor people to the vicissitudes of poverty and inadequate health care, destroy the environment, sell one's soul to oligarchs, de-legitimize our fellow human beings by calling them "illegal," or arrange for the abduction, incarceration, and torture of immigrants - especially if you yourself are married to one.

Lang is a click-baiting punk. Probably doesn't believe a word of his own placards about Black people, but parades around with them anyway to get the attention he craves. He also hung that despicable "Deport 100+ million" banner at Nationals Park last month and got himself banned. Good riddance.

A correction and a reminder of why it's a good idea to cool off before rage-tweeting: Andrew Giuliani did NOT make the decision to bar Omar Artan from entering the US, he only merely AGREED with Customs and Border Patrol's decision to deny entry because of what's called "derog," derogatory info.

Here's that story:

An account of how Andrew Giuliani's bratty, entitled need to play catch with dad Rudy led to tens of thousands of Yankees fans being prevented by NYPD from going to their cars and leaving the Bronx after the Yankees won Game 6.

That's right, it wasn't enough that Hizzoner and and his entitled son Andrew, who was ten years old at the time, just HAD to indulge their narcissistic need for photo ops and fun by playing catch on the Yankee Stadium infield while outside, under direct orders from the frolicking mayor, prevented fans from going to their cars or the subway. They stood in menacing cordons outside the stadium and threatened parents with their young children, telling us we could not exit the cordoned-off area until Hizzoner was good and ready to stop playing catch. We couldn't even go to our car to get warm; we were forced to congregate on the sidewalks outside the stadium very late at night, with thousands of other fans milling about, none of us knowing why we couldn't just leave, many of us with small children in tow, wondering how long we'd have to stand around freezing our tuchuses off. All because Andrew Giuliani decided to invoke his son-of-the-mayor privileges with no regard for the discomfort, even danger, he was putting everybody else in while he played catch with his dad. And by the way, who paid for all the overtime put in by the cops assigned to herd all those game-goers into a pen around the perimeter of the stadium? Pretty sure that massive overtime check didn't come out of Rudy's pocket.

Even more enraged after reading that the decision to bar Artan was made by Andrew Giuliani, entitled son of Rudy, who in 1996 kept tens of thousands of Yankees fans outside in the freezing cold, prevented by police from going to their cars so he could play catch with his dad on the field.

The woman he's insulting is SURROUNDED BY OTHER WOMEN How they can just sit there, complicit by their inaction, is beyond me. Their silence might as well be approval of his disgustingness. These pressers just give him the attention he craves; they're unnecessary since all he does is lie. End them.

Jen Pawol's Umpire Scorecard from her game of May 27. 2026, Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox. Her "overall consistency" score is 95%, which is in line with the standard for major league umpires. 2 out of 3 challenges were overturned, so she could stand to work on her "impactful missed calls," particularly the strikes she's been missing - no umpire wants to miss a chance to call a strike! - but overall, she's acquitting herself admirably. Good job, Jen.

Even more disappointing, when I went to the GIST website and signed up for the newsletter, it offered an opt-out of sharing, selling, or processing my personal info by exhorting me to "just click the 'Reject All' button." Guess what? There was no "reject all" button; I had to do it one by one.

Rejecting those options one at a time is possible, but obviously much more cumbersome a process than clicking on just one button
