Some of the replies to the thread make me feel rather old. My first racing game would have been Chequered Flag on the Spectrum.. an F1 game without any other cars.
At least if this happens when Trump is about to present the trophy, it'll be balanced out by all the TVs being switched off.
Since this game arrived the other day, every time I walk past it, my brain makes up a conversation along the lines of: "What are those overlays for?" "For Vectron!"
Seen on eBay this morning and with the description "may or may not work".. I'm gonna go with the latter.
Mega Drive Bubsy wasn't the best of games, but compared to the PS1 game, it was a work of art
I really like Margin Call, but I'm not sure I'd be filing it under satirical comedy, Amazon
Looking at some of today's Netflix additions, I think I'll stick with the wonderful Top Secret.
Reminds me of the tonal opposites in a local wedding shop a few years back.
Just endless slop like this. Might just wean myself off Instagram for a bit...
On Instagram, it seems more and more advertisers are just using AI to change the text from this stunt to shill their crap. I've seen twenty different ads for twenty different companies and it's just an instant block from me. Maybe I'm just a grumpy old man, but it's just so lazy of them
Probably not the strongest argument against digital-only games, but I will always enjoy finding stuff like this in old games.
I find it odd that more and more ads on social media just throw swearing in. I guess it's attention-grabbing, but it comes across as a bit desperate.
I've been testing tapes this week actually and it's weird to think that with these modern formats eventually going total digital, rather than still being to play the same games in 40 years' time, they'll just be lost forever in a lot of cases.
Just tried Vivaldi and it's the same there too.. never even noticed the option before.
These are the various things that eBay thinks I should be wearing. With my slowly receding hairline, I guess the wig is the closest match.
Testing more spectrum cassettes. Fred's high score table has four dead Freds who scored no points whatsoever. Truly the 'Greatest'
I like it when a batch of Spectrum stuff arrives that contains stuff I've not only never owned before, but never heard of. Now to track my friend's astrological profiles...
I think I was just the right age to lap up stuff like Street Hawk, Manimal, Knight Rider and of course, Automan.
Just to show how cultured we are in Stoke, there's a single reply to the local news report of David Hockney dying and it's this
I miss the days when games would just come with all kinds of interesting bits and bobs. Not as a special edition - just as standard.
