Every food photo I share is me asking you to please be kind & consider going vegan for the animals ♥️
Favorite bird ✔️ Favorite Marvel movie ✔️ ☺️⚡️ #PigeonSky #Thunderbolts The silhouettes are from our three wood pigeon visitors: Poopie, Mupie & Hoover 🫶
Trying to get my mom to eat more legumes, so I made a chocolate banana pudding and snuck in half a can of butter beans. 😏 (It’s just the beans, bananas, dark cocoa powder, hojicha powder, unsweetened almond milk.) 🍌🤎
I bought this “Bavarian Curry” mix at the famous Viktualienmarkt in Munich. The ancient grains and legumes are all grown in Bavaria. 🙂 Served it with roasted zucchini from our garden, mushrooms and carrots. 💛
The vegan food scene in Munich is unreal. You can get pretty much anything — from traditional Bavarian beer garden fare to French pâtisserie. 🌱🫶
Hung out with a different herd today, in the Rhön mountains. ⛰️🐃 We helped move them from one pasture to another, which was exciting. 🙂 You can find out more here: lebenstiere.de/was-wir-biet...
“Stay cool, frens!” 🩵 Minnie enjoying a refreshing, homemade pupsicle (pup cube?) 🥒🍃🧊
“Excuse me, sir, what the heck are you doing?” Nothing better than visiting rescued cows on a Sunday afternoon with my vegan husband 🥰🐄🐮 lebenstiere.de/lebenshoefe/...
My mother-in-law made a classic 90s German cake today: a delicious, veganized ‘Maulwurfkuchen’, i.e. ‘mole cake’ (because it looks like a mole hill). Normally, you’d make it with banana, but she used fresh raspberries instead. 😋
It’s like Easter, when we all had hot cross buns 😅 (My mom’d made these, I can’t take any credit)
Not a pigeon (sorry), but the second best piece of art I was delighted to see at the Louvre was this portrait / profile pic of Anne of Cleves by Hans Holbein the Younger. @clarajeanmc.bsky.social, wish you’d been there ☺️
Hang it in the L— Ah, never mind, it’s already in the Louvre! #PigeonSky
I’m in heaven a.k.a. Land&Monkeys, a 100% vegan bakery in Paris! 🤤 We had French classics like chocolate éclair, tarte au citron, and flan! 🇫🇷🌱🐒
Tonight, we ate like the ancient Greeks and Romans: I made Athenian cabbage, Cato’s olive relish, Alexandrian squash, and Pompeiian panis quadratus 😊🍷🫒🏺🏛️ Recipes: www.britishmuseum.org/blog/cook-cl...
I found it at a charity shop the other day. The little dog reminds me so much of Emma! 🥹❤️🩹
Extra virgin olive oil cake. 🫒🍋 Recipe from Philip Khoury’s wonderful ‘A New Way to Bake’. 📖 He was Head Pastry Chef at Harrods in London and specialises in plant-based baking.
My niece just sent me this collage and made me aware of this NASA website where you can create your own: science.nasa.gov/specials/you... Neat. 🙂🌍🛰️
This was at the Ashmolean in Oxford a few weeks ago. 🐦 The fresco featuring a wood pigeon is from Pompeii (a recreation); the stone relief is, apparently, from Ancient Carthage! #PigeonSky
Mentally, we‘re still in Crete, so we recreated and veganized some classic Cretan dishes at home: “dakos” (carob rusks topped with tomatoes, olive oil, and cheese) and “lihnarakia” (sweet cheese pastries) 🇬🇷🍅🫒
