VirginiaGrassroots.org Working group for Climate and Clean Energy within the coalition. Supporting VA legislation to lower emissions and accelerate an affordable, clean energy economy.
Fuel costs on energy bills - another thing our VAleg didn't fix this year. Shareholders need to bear risk from volatile costs of burning fuels. Ratepayers have had it with bad energy decisions that are simply more profitable to utility shareholders. Do energy efficiency + solar + wind + batteries.
Price gouging at EV stations for 4th July holiday travelers? This is Smithfield, NC same @electrifyamerica.com charging station. Last week (6/25/26) .40c/kWh. This week (7/2/26) .60/kWh. Are they doing this where you are? 🔌⚡

This is more than unsettling. Global warming's localized weather whiplash. This suburban DMV area was at 80F 24 hours ago. Accurate forecasting is all we can say was good about this weather situation.
We know some counties in Virginia are reaping the benefits from welcoming the industry, but at what cost to everyone else? Time to demand more from this highly extractive industry - we've had enough.
Enjoying historic Inauguration moments thanks to @vpm.org livestream. 💙

Mountain Valley Pipeline proposes pushing more gas through existing pipeline, expecting data centers to be their customers. A community that fought off a compressor station once will have to do it again ..probably why the details are not forthcoming.

Amendments on clean energy credits failed to get enough votes in voting that took place in the last couple of hours.
