went to the peninsula with a friend a couple days ago. got my feets wet in a lil pond tributary draining into the bay. there are native wild pink climbing roses everywhere out there. found a ton of accessible sassafras that I'm gonna harvest to try & make root beer. I missed nature... 🥹🪻

yeah it's still a dump but I made a lot of progress toward being able to use the yard for hanging out with friends & of course taking Mister out, but we need flea prevention before that can happen; SO MANY STRAY CATS... also a raccoon. and don't forget the ground hog. 🫪

I spent yesterday afternoon hauling a bunch of garbage out of the backyard, til my face was red. even after a cold shower, ice cream & iced tea my face was still pink. the 100% humidity makes it feel 10° hotter than it actually is... but I did it. also discovered laid bricks under the grass!

so, here's the current state of the apartment, the comfort level gets a little better every day. the building is sagging & the floors are like a fun house, it's filthy, there was a gas leak, the toilet is clogged, there's no heat & the "backyard"... exists. but we're gonna make the best of it.

move is done. we upped the vibes but it still smells like poopoo & paint. and there was a gas leak that I had to call in. and they had to shut off the gas because of it. hurray.
