One thing that I have noticed over the years: If someone works in a position of power in the government for long enough, no matter what it is, no matter how pernicious their boss is, they will exploit that power and defend it with every ounce of their being. John was Hastert’s longtime spokesman.
John Feehery served as Dennis Hastert’s spokesman for the better part of a decade, so take whatever he says about child safety and protecting children with a grain of salt.
According to his bio in Wikipedia, for six years of his career in Congress, John was with Dennis. Hastert.
This is a good time to remember that John Feehery spent the better part of a decade serving as Dennis Hastert’s spokesman in Congress. He is even credited with devising the “majority of the majority” voting rule aka the ”Hastert rule”.
What I see whenever Frank Luntz presents focus group results about voter sentiment:
There is a reason lobbyists who spent a longtime working for Dennis Hastert aren’t asked to be paid contributors on cable news. There is a reason why former Hastert hatchet men aren’t making millions in their careers in the private sector.
Wow, it seems like Dennis Hastert’s longtime spokesman like to be on the wrong side of every important issue in history. Sad!
Why did Feehery spend half a decade of his career serving as Dennis Hastert’s spokesman and why does he now think he is a good analyst of politics when the MAGA faithful are so angry about the never ending Epstein scandal and cover up? That has never made sense to me.
INTERESTING FACT: John served as Dennis Hastert’s spokesman for a little over half a decade of his career. Always be leery of a Feehery theory.
Tweeted by a man who worked as a communications director for Tom DeLay and as a press secretary for Dennis Hastert.
Former Hastert mouthpiece, John Feehery, celebrates a future where US consumers have to pay more for everything. I guess he never bothered to look up how Bessent’s hedge fund performed.
John served as Dennis “the high school wrestling menace” Hastert’s spokesman for over half a decade. He is even credited with creating a legislative rule known as the “Hastert Rule.” In the age of the Epstein scandal, why does this Hastert henchman think people want to hear his political analysis?
“Honest Contrarian” sounds better than Dennis Hastert’s longtime spokesman. Apparently.
Trump has been ranting on social media for months about The Reflecting Pool, bragging about how only he could fix it, & throwing out all sorts of inaccurate statistics & cost estimates. He only made things worse, but John Schroeder & Hugh Hewitt can’t understand why this is a scandal.
John Feehery wrote a clever essay about “time and money.” While we’re on the subject of time, it is interesting that John spent 6 years of his career, half a decade (more or less), serving as a spokesman for Dennis Hastert. He is even unofficially credited with naming a legislative rule after him.
You hear that, folks? Ted Cruz prefers his “wolves in wolves’ clothes,” which is why he is backing Ken Paxton for Senate.
John Feehery served as Dennis Hastert’s spokesman for half a decade. Not surprising that he seems okay with a corrupt, philanderer who helped a child abuser avoid prison time to be Texas’s next senator.
Why would anybody think listening to Dennis Hastert’s longtime former spokesman was a good idea? Always be leery of a Feehery theory. Words to live by.
FYI. John Feehery served as Dennis Hastert’s spokesman for half a decade. He should probably avoid commenting on politics for the rest of his life and consider changing his name.
I am sure the real reason he wants his taxes and moving expenses covered is because the new PM of Hungary just defunded CPAC.
Odd that he didn’t list “Work for Dennis Hastert for six years” as one of his tips for getting rich. Weird.
Old Neuteronomy’s grey cells seem to be misfiring. So sad to watch the cognitive decline of one of our nation’s greatest fiscally conservative fornicators. I wish Callista would take away his phone and make him retire from public life.
Listing on your résumé that you spent half decade working as a spokesperson for a man who abused teenage boys seems like a political loser, but that is where John Feehery has positioned himself. I predict the QAnon folks and the MAGA faithful will discover this fact eventually and have a field day.
