I wanted to order a poetry chapbook from a small press in the UK. It costs $7 but the postage is $21 (3x the cost of the chapbook). Blah.
I have three haiku in the excellent new Password 3.2, a journal of very short poetry, veryshortpoetry.com
In Tuvan throat singing news: Alash will be touring the US from mid June to the end of July...they'll be at Joe's Pub in NYC on 7/22. Many shows on the East Coast! www.alashensemble.com/performances...

More musicians are coming to perform live on future Vocal Frys: 4/28: Time Trout - rock group w/vox by Viv Corringham; they improvise everything but it sounds composed. 5/12 (rescheduled from 4/21): Charmaine Lee - extended vocals layered into extraordinary soundscapes, complete killer!
I knew McNulty made some weird choices but I did not realize that one was marrying Kristi Noem.
Duchamp did some other great self-portraits. One is in the form of a wanted poster (before such things were obligatory custom tourist souvenirs?) - in another Duchamp confers with himself, himself, himself & himself. (I suspect one or more may actually be Rrose Selavy in disguise though. Or Dalí.)
There are some fun variations. Picabia painted a box with LHOOQ + handling instructions. Dalí had himself (w/iconic mustache & fur pulled over chin) photographed while dressed & posed as Duchamp's female alter ego Rrose Selavy (whose name is a pun on "Eros, c'est la vie" aka Eros, that's life).
Years later - 1942 - Jean Arp found Picabia's version in a secondhand shop. He brought it to Duchamp, who added the goatee. You can see his note saying "beard added for Picabia in 1942." Duchamp made other versions over the years by drawing on whatever cheap Mona Lisa print was at hand.

Yes, in the early 90s I was in a cult that worshiped satellite transmissions.

Finally, a take on hollerin' history that includes prehistoric cave paintings! Let the hollers ring out in the caverns under the mountains as well as the valleys! youtu.be/_PTK9AJ3OjQ?...
And here are a few genuinely perplexing cartoon faces in Münter's later work - I am reminded of the highly stylized faces of Japanese characters in some anime. But from the 1930s in W Europe.
