What a fantastic regatta day! I biked down from the airport area faster than I could if I drove or took the bus. Bonus is I got to bypass all the construction traffic returning. I guarantee i got home faster than anyone in a car. The traffic was dark red (+15 min delay) but it took me 1 minute 😁💪
After reading the abstract, it's unclear if they factored in the walk shed of the systems versus each other, or if they looked at total length of the systems. Also I'd be curious if right of way priority was analyzed. Like Lyon pops in mind. So much tramway and Metro. Very lovely read 😊😊
There's gotta be a venn diagram for that group of men who park trucks on crosswalks and also don't respect women.
Not to mention all the wankpanzers don't fit in parking garages. You'd think all the rough and tough working folk would be fine leaving their emotional support vehicles on the road with their rugged durability. Every truck should require a special license and be commercial insurance.
Some electrons aren't wiggling tonight on the east coast of the island #nlpoli #Newfoundland
Woah there St. John's. Your ArcGIS imagery icon for 2025 imagery is having a party! 🥳
Oof. Rough rush hour for suburban and exurban commuters coming into #stjohnsnl this morning.
I'm so humbled by the support and joy little have for my stand ☺️ My friends and I put in all the signs 💪. Many of them right from the back of my car! thanks to everyone who reached out to get a sign 🙏💖 most of the signs are by request and are all compliant with the regs with what I've installed!
Come see the wild attraction that is the RUSSELL sign on Columbus drive. All of my signs are legally placed and meet the election guidelines 😉 Voterussell.ca Myles Russell Councillor At-Large! Election on Oct 2nd
@johnriche.bsky.social I saw your commend on the NordSpace first launch and laughed out loud
Dunno wtf this is about. As a Newfoundlander the choice is fish but honestly, I'd prefer chicken 😅 #MCR
Concerts. I normally don't do them but as an elder millennial, MCR has a spot in mine and my partner's heart 🖤
It's late at night. I'm a 25 minute walk to the Metro. Or just scan a bike 2 minutes away, ride directly to the Metro station in 5, pop the bike in the dock, get an alert in seconds that it's all good, then I hop on a subway then on a bus. Loads of night services. Montréal provides travel choice 😊
JFC... I cannot explain how freeing it is to literally scan a bike at a dock, ride for like 10 minutes and lock into a different dock and you're done. Off for a pint and pasta. I don't really ride to restaurants or anything in #stjohns because finding a bike rack is a hassle.
I landed in Montreal. In less than 40 minutes without any deep knowledge of the system, I managed to get a day transit OPUS pass, hop on the express airport bus from YUL, get on a subway and walk to a specific store, just from the wayfinding maps. Reliable frequent transit is a game changer 😁

That's using $20,000,000 per km of light rail, centre median, surface ran. The high cost of many projects is simply keeping car capacity requiring complex construction, burying lines, building bridges and viaducts etc. Replace car space with light rail and we can build it cheap.
Four cars not following the rules for quidi vidi jammed up 4 buses with around 300 people on them for over 6 minutes. That's absolutely nuts. Those cars were not following the rules but the rules weren't being enforced.
"I think I'll take the bus to the regatta here in #stjohns on this beautiful day 😊. Well that doesn't seem like an efficient route." This is why people drive. People will travel however is easiest. We need a city that actually values real choice in mobility. Until then, driving will win.
