Yes that is a nice view, the old teacher housing was across from the community hall and above the church. I have fond memories of the church bells ring on Sundays and all day on Easter. Old school location in red
Pictures from my Father's camera The old school before it was torn down. When dad tore it down he noted the lumber was straight and free of knots, old growth forests. He built a single family dwelling from the salvaged lumber. I remember how much light those windows let in. St. Paul Island, 1975

50 years ago this summer, 4 teenagers and their fathers spent 2 weeks hiking in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. We hiked sections of the Continental Divide Trail, crossed the upper headwaters of the Flathead River and hunted trilobites in the shadow of Trilobite Peak. Fabulous memories.
OOOoooo, a scrawny little 2-3 year old brown bear visited the yard this evening. I'm watching a fire of burning branches and hear some scrambling up a nearby tree. I get a quick glimpse 'oh, a raccoon, nope to light, a porcupine ' it scrambles around the tree to the other side, 'oh a brown bear'.
Lovely, I always thought white iris would look great when grown with Wild Iris from Alaska.

It appears that the Cinnamon and Thai Basil all washed over into the Lemon Basil section of the pot. We had several large rainstorms 2 weeks ago, soon after I planted the seeds. 🌱
Normally I am not a fan of IPAs, but our local Flathead Brewing Company has come out with a Nitro Milkshake IPA that is really great. I take back all those nasty things I said about IPAs.
Its my birthday week, time to party. I selected a single malt and bourbon to celebrate my 65th birthday.
You haven't heard about the giant Stay Puff marshmallow farms in the Valley have ya?
