Meanwhile, in Singapore's National Library Board's sci-fi pop-up...
I'm reading the back material for THE AMALGAM AGE omnibus and it is wild that these were two of the alternative names for Amalgam Comics.
In that case, if you (and @alexdecampi.bsky.social) would permit me a moment of shamlessness...

Listen to the Scott Pilgrim crew, folks. Make it easy for everyone in your city or town to read the award-winning prose/comics hybrid by @charsiewspace.bsky.social and myself. Share this link with your librarian: www.edelweiss.plus#sku=98118455...
Probably a good time to share what I bought for myself for my birthday.
I've deeply loved other comics before and after this, but THE SINGLES CLUB #4 is still—hands down—my favourite single issue ever. (Its visual storytelling choices were a huge influence on a comic I co-created, WORLDS APART: A CONVERSATION ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH—available internationally soon!)
So, I've made a decision, in regards to our National Library Board.
The National Library Board of Singapore is still on their bullshit. On the surface, this sounds like a great initiative: a sci-fi-focused pop-up library in a mall. When you read the press release's annex, however, you'll see that the pop-up also has a gen A.I. feature. www.nlb.gov.sg/main/about-u...
Forget sharing the last picture you saved, I want to see the very first picture on your phone. (Look at me casually flexing with a photo of @nadiadaeng.bsky.social and me with MTV Asia VJ—and the third in our throuple—Utt.) (He said we're a throuple jokingly, but Nadia might think otherwise.)
What my Saturday looks like. Neither of these got a theatrical run when they were first released, so this'll be the first time I'm watching them in a cinema.
Spotted this outside another ad agency. It is so hilariously full of itself that I spit-laughed.
People keep asking Alan Moore questions about comics he's disowned when they could spend more time asking him questions about things he actually gives a shit about—and get answers as glorious as this.
I gotta say, I delivered an excellent physical reaction to a ghost story in this episode.
Gerry Conway was known for a whole lot of things, but the one thing I'll always remember him for was this page, particularly those incredible wordless last three panels (with full credit and respect to Gil Kane too). That is some of the finest character development I've ever seen—in any medium.
If that blurb by Paul Levitz wasn't enough to convince you, here are some very kind words from @antonhur.com and @alexdecampi.bsky.social. Get WORK-LIFE BALANCE—with free shipping this weekend from @bookshop.org! bookshop.org/p/books/work...
@nadiadaeng.bsky.social is punk as fuck and I'm always honoured to stand (or, in this case, sit) beside her. Also? Fuck cancer.
I just saw a discussion about THE LAST JEDI on my skyline and all that makes me wanna do is tell people what a joy it is to speak with Jock about his film work. If you got to see his eyes light up when talking about STAR WARS, it would make your day/week/year.
I shared this on Instagram when the first season of THE PENGUIN first went online and no one got it. I imagine bsky dot app will appreciate it a little more.
Of all the movie soundtracks from the nineties that I thought I'd still be listening to somewhat regularly thirty years later, Richard Linklater and Eric Bogosian's SUBURBIA wasn't at the top of my list, yet here we are.
While in Perth, I learned about Giovanna Garzoni's painting, "Dog with a Biscuit and a Chinese Cup", and it is officially my favourite piece of art ever.
I've not gone for a haircut in more than a month. I haven't shaved in maybe two weeks. I'm definitely going to within the next couple of days, but this afternoon, my wife asked when I'm losing "the Barry Gibb look," which ages us perfectly, but is also really quite fair.
Hoo boy, it was a mistake to try and read THE ART OF THAI COMICS while I'm out and about. Its size makes it such a pain to read on public transport. Haven't finished it yet, but I'm designating it "home reading only", while I start on... 5. THE SPIDER AND HER DEMONS by sydney khoo
