I mean I had not yet introduced Valerie, the Ghost of ̶M̶a̶r̶y̶ ̶L̶y̶o̶n̶s̶ Daniel Webster Hall into my webcomic when it went on hiatus But yes.

The bottom half of her body tapers off into a ghostly tail, inspired by the Genie from Disney’s Aladdin. She has a pool cue sticking out of her chest, and a spoon out of her head.

She became a ghost after a tragic (yet comical) accident involving a ping pong ball, a pool cue, a light socket, and a spoon from the cafeteria.

There is a bunch of writing scribbled around the couple of concept drawings, including:

“My death was a rather shocking experience”

“You’re heartless!

Well yeah, a pool cue went through it.”

“The ghost of Lyons hall? But you’re not quite a lion, are you?”

It is amazing the difference that 8°F makes in the dew point. That thunderstorm last night really helped! We’re down to 66°F this morning in Pittsburgh. We were at like 72°F this time yesterday!

There are now several storm cells firing west and north of Pittsburgh, my current location.

Also, the airport, KPIT, has seen a significant drop in both temperature and dew point, to 78/66F respectively.

So the Washington National Cathedral had a float in the DC Pride Parade today. The Cathedral has a Darth Vader gargoyle on one of its towers. It was represented on the float. This is wonderful.

Been a minute since I posted a selfie here: Summer is upon us, and so today I channeled those summer vibes! I have learned to love linen, especially in DC.

It’s made of a kaleidoscope of warm colors, pink, red, orange, yellow, and white, and kinda reminds me of the lesbian pride flag—appropriate for June, and me.

So this past weekend I doubled the size of my fleet of 2-10-4s. Appropriate since I was born in Texas. Anyway, I took them to the club and shenanigans ensued.

3026 has been nicely weathered by the previous owner, and may inspire me to do that to my steam locomotives.
