Vertical series make sense in China where the underemployed youth are lounging around 12 hours per day bored out of their minds while waiting for the Meituan app to assign them a bowl of noodles to deliver. US media keeps trying to push microseries despite US's differing work/free-time structure.
You really have to hand it to the Bay Area kids to put on a fireworks show like this.
My wife ordered a rare Japanese hybrid peach only grown in California and exported to Taiwan. Absolutely the most amazingly fragrant peach I’ve ever had. The peach equivalent of crack. Alice Waters had a dessert on the menu at Chez Panisse with a similar Asian peach just placed whole on a plate.
It was around 80°F here today, so I made a nice chilled salade niçoise for dinner.
I'd like to put it out there that I think it's disingenuous for any artist who's previously instrumentalized revolutionary political iconography to sell records to later complain that it's the public's fault for misunderstanding her as being a political artist. F**k the NYT for playing along.
After our hike yesterday, we drove along the coast on Highway 1, where we rescued a motorcyclist pinned to the side of the mountain by his BMW bike—there was no phone reception, so this was DIY by necessity. Then we went to the beach and had dinner.
Absolutely stunning day out in the forest in Marin County. My friend wanted to get some hydras to do some microscopic photography, and I made jambon-beurres with ham from Sonoma County and baguettes from Tarts de Feybesse, which I think makes the best baguettes in the Bay Area.
Lower Manhattan city skyline a few years ago. Used a Mamiya RB67 for this with Kodak Gold 200 film.
This is from the food court there btw. Prime beef bone-in short rib galbi-jjim with tteokbokki. Look me in the eye and tell me you’d prefer Applebees to this.
Yeah, it's all very confusing. Trump's accepted Iran's 10-point proposal as a basis but the official Iranian statement about this is still (oddly) keeping the US 15-point proposal in play. I'd just chalk it up to Trump not having any idea what he's saying. It's probably best to just ignore him.
Is it a good practice to hold your holstered gun like that when there’s no threats around? Dude’s using his service weapon as a fidget spinner. Get ICE out of our airports. Please.
Democrats are falling into the Iraq War trap of half-supporting a war. The party needs to call for impeachment and protest nonstop. They must go on record of opposing this absolutely before it becomes the disaster it obviously will. If they do it when it’s obvious, their opposition is meaningless.
This is currently the stage we’re at in Venezuela. The media breathlessly covering jubilant crowds in Miami needs to be reminded that what came after Firdos Square’s celebrations was what really mattered. www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...
Our Democratic leaders need denounce what happened as illegal and go after Trump with a fury. They need to become the anti-war party. Otherwise, like w/ Iraq, they’re going to be blamed for the disaster for decades. And stop using the fascist slogan “America First.” What party do you lead anyways?
Excellent turnout for the Stand Up for Science rally in Berkeley! Speakers included Fernando Pérez (known for IPython and Jupyter) and Jennifer Doudna (Nobel Prize in Chemistry, 2020; developed the essential basis of CRISPR gene editing).
